5. The Iraqis are going .....
to start killing innocent Americans, already they have kidnapped quite a few, if you have been listening.

Now to me that is a concern.

8. innocent Americans,
What makes you think there are "innocent Americans" being killed? I find very little innocence on our side.

21. That's irrelevant. This is not the way to treat captives.
This is how Sen. Inhofe thinks captives should be treated -- not the standard that the world holds to.

16. Hey, don't blame him without blaming Bush and Rumsfield. What happens
If Bush fires Rumsfield when he has the chance? What happens if Bush listens to the Red Cross in October of last year, or his own reports in January, and takes appropriate actions, such as an overhaul of the Iraqi prison system, firm orders to stop all tortures, and a review of all prisoners held for minor offenses?

We should have learned two things in January. We should have learned that our elected officials, plus Bush, had these photos, and we should have learned who was fired and arrested over them AT THE SAME TIME!

Bush's actions in this, Rumsfield's actions, have given them the excuses they need. IF we were behaving over their, and IF we took the effort to become popular, rather than despised, then these insurgents or al-Quieda imports, or whomever, would have no popular support.

BLAME BUSH! A fish rots from the head.

3. Lot more to this story than his death
snip--
Parents last heard from son in April
On April 5, the Bergs filed suit in federal court in Philadelphia, contending that their son was being held illegally by the U.S. military. The next day Berg was released. He told his parents he hadn’t been mistreated.

The Bergs last heard from their son April 9, when he said he would come home by way of Jordan, Turkey or Kuwait. But by then, hostilities in Iraq had escalated.

Suzanne Berg on Tuesday said she was told her son’s body would be transported to Kuwait and then to Dover, Del. She said the family had been trying for weeks to learn where their son was but that federal officials had not been helpful. “I went through this with them for weeks,” she said. “I basically ended up doing most of the investigating myself.”

6. I was reading about this... Sistani-allied protest in Najaf.
I was expecting thousands when I heard about it. There were thousands a week ago somewhere, not in Najaf though. I'd read hundreds later. Now, I read 'dozens' had marched, and were promptly shot at by 'local residents' and panicked and fled. Mahdi army says it's provocation by US forces. I'm starting to wonder if it's not just ordinary Shiites who see Sistani's pals working with the US to crush Sadr as not being patriots.

If that truly is indeed the case, the US has succeeded beyond its wildest nightmares in unifying Iraq.

12. The Berg family holds Rumsfeld and the administration responsible
This kid was NOT a mercenary. He had done a lot of volunteer work in Africa and went to Iraq to help. Inhofe et all should be ashamed . . .what a disgrace.
The Bergs have said that this administration does not have the values of the America they grew up with. . .

As President Bush put it, they are an exceptional "few bad apples"
whose actions "do not reflect the nature of our country."

14. Al-qaeda was not in Iraq before US invasion, but they are sure there now!
The prison abuse will haunt us for decades. Al-qaeda and Osama hated Saddam for what he was doing to the Shites but they never could overcome Saddams legions to get inside Iraq. We opened the flood gates and now we will pay the price. Osama must be very happy today.

15. I'm afraid that even a half a million or a million...
...U.S. troops in the region (Iraq) will not be enough to curb this type of revenge killing by Iraqi terrorists. Violence begets violence.

I pray for the families of this American victim. I pray for our troops who are fighting in Iraq now. I pray for all Iraqi citizens. But most of all I pray for our enemies. I pray that they may find and receive what it is that we seek in our own hearts. I pray for an end to the violence and the safe return of our troops and their commanders.

19. Common in Chechnya
This is possbly an Al Qaeda type group. They do this same thing in Chechnya all the time. Of course the Russkies do too. There are videos on the web that show these kind of killings. I don't want to get too graphic so I will just stop there.
