I have not read any stories about Iraqi insurgenst breaking anyone out of prisons in Iraq. as stated on another thread here... something is not right with this!

EVEN IF he had been given orange jumpsuit in prison, he probably wouldn't have left with it and anyway he had time to change out of it in three days.

American volunteer worker, held by the Iraqi authorities (isn't that us, or at least someone in the "coalition"?), until his family is interviewed as to his purposes there in Iraq by the FBI, then killed a day after he's been released? Guess this will get everyone fired up again (three minute hate scheduled for 6:31 as this story will lead the evening news) and get those pesky "abuse" stories of the news. Sorry if anyone reads this as coming across too callously, as I sympathize with the young man. No one, I mean no one, should have that fate.

I condemn the murder of the American as strongly as I condemn the murders perpetrated in the name of American empire-building. On the scale of evil, I think Al Quaeda and the Bush administration are pretty much side-by-side. In this particular subplot in the war story, there are no good guys. Please let's not become bizarroworld Freepers in rationalizing or minimizing this.

during lynchings. It's a subject people only hear about, because it's too fucked up to read about it. I looked at it though. One book in particular affected me deeply. It was a book that did nothing but contain newspaper reports of lynchings in america.

You wouldn't believe the stories reported in the papers when they happened. The frenzy that would be stirred up, whole counties were notified that a lynching was gonna take place and people showed up in a carnival atmosphere. Sold hot dogs and all. It was incredible to read of the stories in which the white victim of a crime, either doubted or flat out, exonerated the caught "perpetrator, still didn't stop the lynching. When doubt would be aired, someone would always without fail shout out "remember the crime". Start talking about the wrong that was done. The crowd having been worked to a fever pitch, and having traveled for miles for the show, lynched the guy anyway.
In some cases, when they couldn't find the guy, they lynched who they found in his house.

Evidence never means a damn thing in these cases. "Remember the crime!" always carries the day. When we started blaming afghans after 9-11, I knew then I was watching that peculiar american aspect of "character", which would focus on the crime, as an excuse to murder thousands of arabs. I was not surprised when we used it against the Iraqis, who had nothing to do with 9-11. Evidence doesn't have a damned thing to do with it. You got drowned out by "have you forgotten what happened on 9-11?" Just another version of "remember the crime." We can use 9-11 to attack any arab country we want to.

Mob hysteria is not unique to America. It's a human failing. What is new with the Bush* administration is their dedicated use of the media to spread propaganda and stir up this mob hysteria.

Bush* doesn't even have to use the money he's raised through fundraisers. He's got people on the federal payroll who do this kind of work.
