Did Michael Savage report the video was made before the torture pic story?
Freepers are saying that Savage reported on his radio show tonight that the beheading video was made prior to the flap about the torture pics.

Did anyone hear him?

1. So what?
Those tortured knew they were being tortured before November. I'm sure there is an underground network of information that we are not privy to for obvious reasons.

2. This young man's body was found in Baghdad over the weekend.
At the time, there was only a report of a contractor's body being found near an overpass in Baghdad. Chances are they didn't keep the body around after murdering him, so I'm sure Savage is wrong. Again. The 60 Minutes II report was on April 29.

3. I heard him say that....
on my way back from Taco Bell...:)

But, he was using it to make another point, which I wasn't paying a whole lot of attention to, to be honest.

5. Curious now...
What's wrong with Taco Bell?

I'm serious, not trying to be a brat. I don't get it.

6. One of my favorite sayings...
"If you have to ask, you wouldn't understand."

I'm not trying to be rude or nasty either. I just have this weird compulsion to strangle Chihuahuas. I'm a Texan, and whatever Taco Bell serves, it isn't Tex Mex. Maybe it's a personal thing. But, where I used to work, the Taco Bell dog was hung in effigy. For over two years. So if it is a personal failing in me, it's communicable.

8. I'm with you, Miss Regina
I never heard them advertise authentic Tex Mex in their ads; they are fast food for chrissakes. My only complaint is a lot of their offerings taste the same. :7

7. That information is probably incorrect
Berg disappeared on April 9. Hostage taking has become a weapon of choice among Iraqi insurgents. Therefore, killing him was not necessarily what they had in mind from the beginning. That they wished to use him as leverage of some kind seems reasonable.

It does seem likely that Zaqarwi and his associates knew of the torture inside Abu Ghraib before the rest of us. He could have made his "offer" to exchange Berg for the Abu Ghraib inmates before the story broke stateside at the end of April. Of course, he probably also knew the Americans would not have taken his offer seriously.

The body was found Saturday. I have been looking for a news item about the discovery of the body to see if there is anything about how long he might have dead.
