Hannity plays audio of berg beheading

followed by some trademark canned outrage from Sean, of course, while he smugly watches his arbitron numbers go up

HANNITY AIRS UNCUT AUDIO OF BEHEADING

May 14, 2004 -- SEAN Hannity bucked the rest of the media yesterday and played the horrifying audio from the videotaped beheading of Nick Berg on his radio show.
The 33-second audio clip contained at least nine blood-chilling screams from Berg, heard over continuous terrorist chanting.

His final scream appeared to end with a gurgling sound.

"I think people need to know what we're dealing with - it's evil right before your eyes," said Hannity, the Fox News Channel personality whose syndicated radio show is based at WABC (770 AM).

this murder, as horrifying as it was, is not having the effect
that the Bush Cabal expected. It is not getting people frothing

Round up all the evil people and I'll happily agree with you. Problem is, how do we know which ones they are? There's a reason we have the justice system set up in this country the way it's supposed to work...in order to prevent nabbing innocent people.

Since it's not OK to show coffins coming from Iraq out of "consideration for the families" and other such crap, why is it OK to play the audio of someone's grizzly death???

Does anybody hear that at the end of the video? Somebody told me that's what they heard and was quite hysterical about hearing that. I can't say for sure, anybody else?

and I did hear *Now we are...* (accented voice) and the audio stopped there so it's possible someone did hear that. They also whispered something too low to hear before *Now we are....*

The audio goes silent for a moment and then a man says loudly *Allah Akbar*, then there is something mumbled and then the final phrase whatever it is. The voice does not sound western to me though.

He'll stoop to anything, and now his desperation's showing. I realize the Right Wing's ruthlessness but can even the most whorish Repubs be happy with the Hannity-Limbaugh-O'Reilly representaion of late?

is that he used it as a set up to hawk his book! Yup, 25 seconds after the audio finished, Hannity told his listeners that was why he wrote his book, which is available in bookstores everywhere. Here is the transcript one of his dutiful listeners provided:

First, when has Sean ever been shy about mentioning his book on his show? But more to the point, is this a case of shameless self promotion in the face of tragedy? Bad timing? Other? It struck me as more than a little crass and self centered, considering what we'd all just heard."

Seems to be some speculation about a Western voice saying "Thy will be done," twice, near the silence after the screams ended.

Listen for yourself. It's very strange. Could be anything, but it does sound like what it's purported to be on breakfornews.
