Poll question: Was Berg C.I.A.?
Why was he cleared after 9-11 when the government was after everyone it could get it's hands on? Clearing people was the last thing on their minds. He was working for a company of which there is no official record. He was wandering around Iraq without papers. Would an ordinary American do that? Some believe he was caught photographing a mass grave outside the prison. If the CIA is at odds with the Bush administration, what better way to bring down Bush than with photographs. His family, which filed a writ of habeas corpus against the U.S. believe he was killed over a month ago when they last heard from him. There was no blood in the video, which tends to indicate he was dead at the time of the beheading. One possibility is that he died in custody, where intentionally or not, and the video was a way of covering for his death. His family is clearly not on the side of George W. Bush.

Based on what we know about him, how many people here think he might have been CIA?

1. CIA or an Independent trying to expose the truth about the US...
...either way, there is something missing here to the story and I just hope Berg's Dad and Family keep pressing for the truth. I also think that if they keep the pressure on, the administration will think twice of using his death to their benefit. I have a feeling that there are going to be even more strange details of the life of Nick Berg coming out soon that will bring up even more questions...

2. Another possibility
Was he eliminated because he knew something?

he was a threat that had to be dealt with because he was possibly abused in prison? Can you imagine an american on 60 Mins saying, "I was tortured in an Iraqi prison before being interrogated by Americans?". When he was question in the unknown sessions, how was he "softened up?"

6. He was CIA...sent to uncover the Truth....
about the evil white Wal-Mart chair, while working in the prison, personally torturing Iraqis while fathering England's baby while she mixed sulfuric acid and blood to force-feed the prisoners, while selling secrets to the Soviets (never mind that they haven't been around for over a decade) while fronting for Al-Queda to secure bogus email addresses to get free coupons to Baskin Robbin's Free Scoop Night for all of the dead 9/11 hijackers so they can have Ice Cream in Hell. He's pictured in the photos as #6, disguised as the girl wearing a skirt and high heels to complement her huge pectoral muscles and "flattop" haircut.

The guy who decapitated him was actually the sadomasochistically gene-spliced homosexual love child of John Ashcroft and Donald Rumsfeld, who was raised to adulthood in a Catholic orphanage while forced to wear Mickey Mouse ears to symbolize the Demonic nature of Michael Eisner for refusing to release Farenheit 911.

<sarcasm>

I used to wonder why "Middle America" thought we were nuts. After seeing the crazy conspiracy tinfoilhat crowd here in the past few days, I now know.

7. I have said that Berg's death should not be joked about...
But in this case, you are admonishing those who think of his death as fodder for ridiculous, and often degrading, speculation. THANK YOU for showing how silly some of these consipiracy theorists sound.

8. I don't think his death was funny at all.
I also don't think many of the theories floating around are funny either. Both are pretty goddamned sick, if you ask me.

11. I've talked to a lot of people who think he was C.I.A.
Good poll. Glad you're putting the question out there to get those who haven't been researching the matter to start thinking.
