What will Bush/Rove do to regain momentum ?
Will he sign some executive orders regarding abortion or gay marriage? What issue can they take and manipulate to divide the nation and get the people to start talking about something besides the prison abuse story? Is there anything they can do? Whatever their plan, they will do it immediately because they are not the type to be on the defensive. They want very much to regain the offensive. Perhaps they will come out with a very negative, controversial ad about John Kerry? Any ideas what their next move may be?

I just hope that, if God Forbid there's another attack, the public won't blindly follow *, and instead toss him out like Spain did with Aznar.

2. It's scary to contemplate where they are going with this.
Our politicians are still treating them as equals and trying to play by the rules established by generations. I wish they would wake up and realize that the only rule they live by is that the 'ends justifies the means'.

4. Whatever they do...
It will be seen for what it is: Flailing.

Right now, Karl Rove is the single most threatened and targeted individual in Washington, moreso than either Rummy or Chimpy. People WANT his ass, stuffed and mounted and displayed above his head on the wall of their study. His power is melting and there are multitudes who have been quietly biding their time, waiting for this day, secure in the certain knowledge that this day would come.

It is starting to really suck to be him, and it is only gonna get worse.

6. What if we have another anthrax attack ?
That is probably the only thing, short of another terrorist attack, that will distract the people from their present focus. But, that would be a terrorist attack also, wouldn't it? ?????

16. I don't think an anthrax attack is big enough
He would need a full-fledged terrorist attack. One with visual impact.

13. I really don't think that they will gain the momentum
The Berg video I think set a tone of utter disgust and realization that things have just gotten too ugly to turn back. I know alot of people think that the only way to have a remote chance of things returning to some type of normal is to get rid of the *. I don't think people are going to want to take another chance on the *

11. Lets see:
1. October Surpise

2. "Finding" WMDs

3. Reagan's impending death and it's exploitation

Even if that war-chest of his doesn't buy him poll numbers, one or more of these events WILL happen to give him a boost.

14. New Campaign Pictures
To keep from seeing the "Miision Accomplished" and the Rummy Superb Job pics I think that they will try something new. Perhaps a change of his image. Maybe he will show a picture of himself naked on the end of a dog leash with a cigar carrying hooker holding the end of the leash. He could try a new slogan. Bush, he's not just for fundies anymore.

Anything negative about Kerry will come out later in the year, after a running mate is chosen and that person will be similarly slimed. But that's par for the course with this bunch. Something SPECTACULAR will have to happen for him to win in November. Finding WMD's? Not enough - only good for a fleeting bump. Not worth planting them. Osama is always a good bet but they will want to seem like they have thwarted a major attack. They near-LIHOP an attack with * supposedly handing down some major orders to the FBI based on intelligence he has received which prevents an attack on a major city. Osama or another Al-Queda bigwig is caught simultaneosly in connection with this attack. * is a hero again. The other possibility is faking an attempt on Shrub's life during the Convention.

17. Any and Everything
Nothing would surprise me. I'm sure that the Repug Thug Squad has quite a few tricks they would not hesitate to use to extend their lease on the White House for another four years. I shudder to think of what could happen--and probably will in the months ahead. :scared:

21. Many plausible predictions here, Blasphemer
Edited on Sat May-15-04 10:40 PM by enough
I think the staged attempt on Bush*s life (with actual injury, time in hospital to prevent Bush* having to debate) is very likely to happen. Also attempts on family and cabinet members for the sympathy effect. They could stage a relatively small "attack" that would have a lot of impact because of the celebrity status of the victims.

There will surely be some absolutely terrible scandalous dirt dragged up (made up) about Kerry late in the campaign. They sky's the limit here, since they have no compunction about flat-out lies.

It's also possible to create a heightened level of fear around nuke power plants, poisoning of water supplies, suspected dirty bombs, etc. All sorts of things that don't have to actually turn out to be true, but can take up a lot of media cycles. I certainly expect a lot of emergencies on this level to keep Bush* out of debates and retail campaigning.

Finding Osama is probably a given, as well as some trumped-up WMD's. Also expect more video-taped executions of Americans in Iraq and elsewhere. They have been using Berg shamelessly in the past couple of days.

The possibilities are endless.
