i just saw a surrealistic but real t.v. spot for the army national guard. first, it was all computer generated soldiers, no actual images of real people. it gave it a video game look, to appeal to the young cannon fodder. it depicted soldiers putting out fires on the homefront, cleaning up after tornadoes, etc. and then in one sequence it showed a missile shooting out the front of a cannon (?) and on the nose of the missile was the slogan "Let's Roll".
i swear, it looked like a saturday morning cgi cartoon. what the fuck is the right wing's obsession with those two words, allegedly spoken by some passengers on the airliner that was supposedly hijacked and crashed on nine eleven?
and now the military has adapted it to appeal to young energetic soldiers.
i just think it's sad, don't know why exactly.
