Interior Secretary Robert Kennedy Jr.
Is this anybody elses wet dream? I mean, I'm not into men in that sense, but just imagine it! I've never heard anyone give a more articulate defense of environmentalism in a way that can appeal to all people. He's already a champion for the environment and has a great vision for what the movement should look like. If anyone involved in the environmental movement hasn't read the book he co-authored called Riverkeepers then I highly reccomend it. Kerry is great on the environment and I can't think of anyone more exciting or effective to lead his environmental efforts.

The only question is, should he head the EPA instead so he can regulate and sue the F*** out of every polluter in America?!

Has anyone heard Kerry talk about a place for RFK Jr in his administration?

1. I figure he'll get EPA because of his legal background, but....
I also would be thrilled with Interior Secretary. I have NO DOUBT that Kerry will appoint him to one of those positions and that whoever is appointed to the other will be a topnotch environmentalist.

No candidate in history has as stellar a background in the environment as Kerry.

3. Well sort of...
Gore did have a great environmental background but he never talked about it during the election.

In the primary Kucinich had a better record and platform on the environment than Kerry.

But, Kerry is great on the environment and that's probably what I like best about him.

7. Kerry's environmental record is better than Kucinich's.
Every honest Kucinich supporter would be the first to acknowledge that.

Kerry swamps Gore on environmental issues even though Gore was certainly no slouch in that area. After all, it was Kerry who tried to push through labor and environmental protections in the global trade agreements BEFORE they were voted on but he didn't have much help from enough Democrats who could have promoted his efforts at the time.

9. What are you smoking?
Kucinich's environmental platform goes far beyond Kerry's. It's nice that Kerry introduced failed resoultions to change global trade agreements, but Kerry eventually voted for those agreements didn't he? That doesn't say much for his environmental record.

Check out Kucinich's enviro page and you'll see goals beyond what Kerry proposes. Kerry is great on the environment but he still has been influenced somewhat by corporate money.

And Kucinich's lifetime environmental rating was below Kerry's.

Kerry will be the most environmental nominee the party has chosen.

4. Clark is not eligible for SecDef.
I believe you have to be out of the military for ten year before consideration for that post. Shame, though.

5. Great idea!
And what about Kerry naming an entire "shadow cabinet" before the convention? These people could be a big asset on the campaign trail.

6. I agree, RFK Jr is ideal for either job, but
the last i heard from RFK Jr he was very happy with a life outside of Washington. He felt like he got way more accomplished through non-profit organizations. But maybe i am mistaken
