I gotta tell you
I'm a regular here, but I'm beginning to get disgusted with all the love fests for this candidate or that. I don't come here to see people :puke: about their love for their candidate.

This used to be a board that was about issues Now all it's about is: "My candidate is better than yours."

It is becoming sickening. I see all of these new names with 1000+ posts and wonder how their post count got so high. All they do is argue about their candidate.

If you're a Dean lover watch out, because the Kucinich guys are going to let you know how stupid you are. If you like Edwards, someone will inevitably point out that he voted for the war. If we are this split in 04, we will have another 4 years of the naked emperor.

I know we all have our favorites, but this love fest has to stop.

The idea in 04 is to beat Bush. Making love in words is not productive. We need to make sure that ALL Democrats get out and vote. That is the only way we will beat shrub and his minions.

Let's stop all the infighting and get on the same page. BEAT BUSH!

1. Good points....which is why I won't donate to a candidate pre-primary
I feel my limited funds would be better spent going to a get out the vote type organization.

2. It would be good if...
Those who didn't like a candidate would state the reasons why instead of just writing that they don't care for such-and-such. I haven't seen the debates get too out-of-hand, and besides, it's really easy to skip posts since the topic is usually stated in the subject line.

Considering the circumstances and how stressed most of us have been since the selection, people are going to have really strong feelings about the guy they feel can beat Bush. Personally, I haven't forgotten the disappointment when a few of the candidates cow-towed to the Bush agenda over the past couple of years, and other's probably feel the same. I say, let the debates continue, but try to be helpful and informative if you are going to be derogatory towards one of the hopefuls. It would be educational.

3. You've answered your own question.

You've answered your own question. It doesn't take much arguing to
push one over the "1000+" threshold.

6. Well....if that's going to be the content
of this board that I've grown to love, I'm afraid I will be looking for another Democratic haven to join.

Before that happens, I want to send out a plea.

Let's get back to basics.

Let's discuss the best strategy for beating shrub without downgrading someone for their choice of candidate.

Personally, I favor Edwards at this time. That is subject to change as we close in on the primary. But the point is, I don't care who you favor, just quit begrudging people for their choice.

This post is not directed at anyone in particular, it is about the tone this forum has taken over the past several months. Some of the posts smack of freeperville in their content. If I were a newbie, I'd think tiwce about coming back after seeing some of the love/flame fests on candidates.

4. I don't mind
reading the debates, seeing the passion, as long as they stick to the issues, and just as long as everyone agrees that WHOEVER the eventual nominee is, we will all unite to support that person. The people who piss me off are the ones who say that if THEIR candidate is not the nominee, then they're going to sit at home on election day and pout and wait for Utopia to happen. You have to learn how to compromise. I have never gotten a full loaf of bread, have you? Grow up, for God's sake.

But hey, I think it's great that we have several wonderful candidates to argue about!:)

Uncommitted (but leaning Dean),

5. Well I think a few have made up their minds already. I myself...
Am still waiting. I am not sure who I like but since I think like a Dem I will vote a party line. I do like the feed of all the runners being put into the pot. I think when a party does as GOP did and Bush buys his way in early it leaves the people out. McCain would have been better for both GOP and us if he had won. The GOP ended up backing this nub who is run by people with the money. I think we do it better even if it is messy.
