(snip)

Randall joked in September about how he envisioned his funeral: President Bush and Vice President Cheney would show up to pay their respects, but they'd be turned away because his family knows he didn't like them.

1. Tony was a class act!
Dave Letterman & him were very close!I bet Dave will pat tribute to him tonight like he did when Warren Zevon died.

3. Randall was a nut in the best sense; he will be missed.
He was never afraid to be silly, and always poked fun at his own upper-crusty pretentions.

One of a kind.

Heard tales from older locals about him and his high school days.

Edit: forgot to mention that his real name is Leonard Rosenberg

5. I'm sad about this.
Another piece of my childhood gone (loved the Odd Couple). Didn't Tony have two young kids, a girl and a boy? Too bad he didn't live to be 100. He was sharp 'til the end.

TV children we are. Yes, he had at least two kids with that young wife of his, she was thirty something to his seventy.

7. I was shocked, shocked I tell you,...
...to find out he had sex with women.

Seriously though, hats off to Randall for having the cajones to portray one of the first gay characters on television, a few decades back. After he and Billy Crystal broke that barrier, slowly other gay characters began to crop up in mainstream hits, like "L.A. Law" and "Barney Miller."
