Pretty simple really.

1. He's resting, following a prolonged squawk.
No, he's being cared for in a VA hospital near Crawford, Texas. He gets free dialysis and no paperwork to fill out. I wonder which medicare plan he will choose?

3. He's alive and he's going to stay that way as long as
Bush is in office.

After all, Oil is thicker than water.

Bush isn't going to go after him for real. The friendship between the bin Ladins and the Bushes is stronger than that. Bush will protect him as long as he is in office.

6. Alive
As I've been saying for months and months, Osama is alive. And staying as a guest in Crawford, Texas. The coke head will wheel him (or a reasonable facsimile) out right before the election.

7. I would say he's alive, but not leading Al Qaeda
He's a spiritual leader and financier, although probably not a day-to-day operational manager.

And the concept that "Al-Qaeda" is a single, homogeneous entity is probably false, too. We tend to think of it like a corporation or a club or an organization with a strict heirarchy, but I don't think it's like that at all.

Muslims who are fundamentalists say that Al Qaeda is mostly an american term for what they loosely call "The Brotherhood", a collection of like-minded groups. Sometimes their interests coincide, sometimes they don't

This is why the *ush approach to fighting terrorism is doomed. They look at it like taking out the top guy is going to make the structure collapse. And it won't.

13. I wouldn't give Bush even THAT much credit.
"This is why the *ush approach to fighting terrorism is doomed. They look at it like taking out the top guy is going to make the structure collapse."

No. They're not even bothering to take out the top guy in Al Qaeda. They're hopelessly stuck in the paradigm of addressing "state-sponsored" terrorism. They just can't seem to grasp the fact that Al Qaeda and its satellite groups are SUBNATIONAL.

With the exception of the Taliban, which actually did sponsor Al Qaeda, toppling governments left and right is an inefficient, expensive, dangerous, and ultimately futile way to fight this brand of terrorism.

9. You can tell he's dead because BUSH INC says he's alive....
they never tell the truth.

Besides, how can anyone with chronic, fatal kidney disease live in a cave without dialysis for 2.5 years?

11. I kinda think he's on a nice tropical island somewhere. ..
kicked back with one of his wives and a nice cool drink or two (yeah, yeah, I know--Muslim's aren't supposed to drink but they aren't supposed to fly planes into buildings either). .

12. dead
for someone who was on video tapes frequently up to Tora Bora, I find it hard to believe he is alive. I mean how hard would it be to get a handi cam and a recent news paper to prove it? I think Al-Queda and the US have it in there interests to keep him "alive".

14. He's both dead and alive...
just like Schrödinger's cat. Only when we find him will the superposition of states be lost, and then he will be one or the other.

15. He's dead, Jim.
Damnit, I'm a doctor, not a prognosticator!

He's dead and in cryogenic stasis until the body is needed.
