Juicy Brazile quote on DLC

from Joan Walsh's article in today's Salon about the Dean campaign, "My Big Fat Mea Culpa"

Not surprisingly, Donna Brazile agrees. "I think Dean has to move beyond his base, attract institutional players, work the mainstream. But his campaign is telling us that the left is going to have a seat at the table again. That's the message to the DLC: Get used to it. Stop saying liberals are no longer good enough for the Democratic Party. Somebody needs to knock 'em a new asshole."

That somebody, dear Donna, is Howard Dean.

and I think we all need to keep our sense of humor. Good for Brazile. I've always been a fan. We need to see her more often on television. She's a wonderful spokesperson for liberals and progressives. I say, replace Ann Coulter's airtime with Brazile's! She's more intelligent, more charming, and, IMHO, (as a female), better looking. (I know that's not politically correct to comment on her looks. But I think if Coulter looked like Bella Abzug none of the shows who currently book her would allow her in the studio).

3. I liked that article a lot....

As an undecided fluctuating between Dean and Kerry, that article helped calm a lot of my own fears and worries and left a very favorable impression.

It actually did quite a bit to counter the damage that some of the more bullying Dean machine people have done to my pending decision. Especially when he clarified for her that the rabid response team wasn't actually part of his campaign. He didn't discount them but he made sure to clarify. To often on this board it's easy for me to forget that. But this article went a long way towards doing that for me.
