15. That's nothing. A while ago, I was yelled at my
boss for referring to myself as 'retarted' in a joking manner. She said it was offensive. Later she called one of the Hispanic employees by the name of a different Hispanic employee. When he said, "I'm so-and-so, not so-and-so", she replied, "That's okay, all you people look alike anyway.".

My mouth was on the floor.

Here's a solution to the self-deprecating insult:

I once worked with a Nicaraguensa who, when she made a stupid mistake, mutted "Pendeja*" to herself under her breath. Cracked me up.


* Literally "pubic hair", but it means "moron" in that context.

I agree with you. "Retarded" does not mean stupid, and it should not be used as an insult or pejorative. The only way to stop such use is to call it what it is.

but i'm growing tired of the rants about the condition of the studio, the technical problems, and how much better her old studio was. there are enough people hoping that the aar project will fail, and it very well may, but i don't hear the same amount of bitchin' from the other personalities.
