Who saw the footage from Gaza today?
A tank firing on an "empty" building three times, while Palestinians run away in horror, carrying the injured bodies of their friends and family.

Truly horrifying stuff.

2. I saw the footage of the helicopter firing on the protest.
Where these two separate incidents?

13. I'm not sure. The news showed the flares and then the missiles
fired from the helicopter and then everyone running and carrying the wounded children and people.

They have been so busy lately. Where they firing on the empty building to demolish it? I know that is one of the lovely tactics they are doing in Gaza.

So many tragedies, it is hard to keep them all straight. Fire on a wedding party here, fire on a protest there, etc.

:-(

5. I watched it in a daze on the BBC.
Like, how can this be happening! Just how evil can people become! And then I listened to the army spokeswoman apologize. She said it was a mistake and they regretted the loss of life blah blah. They thought they were shooting at empty buildings or something. She sounded so sincere. If it was a one-off, I might even have been persuaded to believe her. It's just so awful. I just can't describe the horror I felt.

6. Was that some sh*t or what?
Man, if the Germans had done that to Jews in the Warsaw ghetto, we would have kicked their ass! Oh wait, they did, and we did.

Aaaaahhhhh, the good old days.

12. Good ole days huh . . .
We sat on our hands for years before we did anything about what Hitler was doing. That's really nothing to be proud of either. Just like this war in Iraq.

As far as the Arabs and the Jews . . . it's tit-for-tat, always has been, always will be. Israel is surrounded by 24 Arab Countries and we are their only friends. If we did not help them, they would have already been driven into the sea.

I'm not making light of it at all. I'll never forget when a father and his son somehow got caught in the middle of a gunfight. The father had his little boy and ran into a doorway. The next thing that happened was the little boy got shot and died immediately. Then the father was shot like 8 times until his body slumped over the child's. I had never seen anything so horrible in my life. Then you hear of a suicide bomber that got on a school bus; however, the news will show the chaos, but they do not show the gruesomeness of it all.

Give it a day or maybe two. There are going to be several suicide bomb attacks as vengeance for today. Then there will be more houses bulldozed down that belong to the Arabs. The same over and over and over . . .

I remember when I was growing up and on the news every night was the fighting in Lebanon, Beirut. The coffins everyday from Vietnam with the names listed. I was maybe 10 or 11 but I'll never forget it.

14. Interesting...
24 Arab countries? There are only 22 total. Besides that Israel is "surrounded" by Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Egypt and the Occupied Territories. That would be 4 countries and one aspiring country.

Not making light of it at all though...just seeking some accuracy.

9. if Israel extended from Berlin to Warsaw . . .
today's tragedy would not have happened. Oh, but practical and theological concerns make that an impossibility. Nevermind.

10. Yes, ABC evening news
I, too, was in tears--actually sobbing. Seeing the dead children--both in Gaza and then in Iraq--really got to me. I feel so helpless to do anything to stop this outrage. If there is a hell, I hope George Bush et. al go there.

11. Saw it when it first came in uncut to CNN
Americans should be forced to watch it all over and over again. By being so clueless, we are encouraging this kind of stuff to happen. And then we have the goddamn nerve to say that the terrorists hate us because of our "freedoms"....no they hate us because we and our friends do rotten stuff to the Arabs and we tell the world how 'good' we are.
