There are too many operatives here lately.
People all over these threads in GD and LBN. Some with a few hundred posts and some with over 1000. Just want you to know you are very obvious.

4. I have been ignoring most of them.
Usually one of our own gets them. Alot of times though I think they go unnoticed by others. I always notice them, I know I am overly suspicious anyway. I just hope people realize there are many more than usual right now.

To go clean out you're ignore list, and find it populated mostly with tombstones...

7. No. These people don't get tombstoned.
They are posers. They love to debunk tinfoil. Tinfoil that ends up becoming conspiracy fact. They have a real interest in detracting from investigational discussion. Do a search on some of the first Berg assasignation threads. I am not gonna list all the active threads right now that they have posted on. But if you click around, you will see what I mean.

10. hm, somebody's feeling a little paranoid tonight
Are you talking about people who ridicule those "there were missiles on the 9/11 planes" folks?

If so, go ahead and call me an "operative"

I don't think you are one of them. I always give your posts thought.

On edit: I am always paranoid. You people have driven my to it. But I will tell you what else is freaking me out. Have you read the thread about the Fed's wanting BBV org's list of visitors. WTF is that?

15. hey there's plenty to be paranoid about
and that's just one of them. (the BBV thing)

That's why I'm here. To make noise. The more of us who make noise, the better.

Security in numbers.

20. Gee, I guess that means I'm "an operative"
I tend to debunk, too, because if it's really a conspiracy, I want to know. I don't want to just drink the aluminum kool-aid, y'know? I mean, either side can mix up a batch, can't they?

Maybe I'm just too old for this any more. Maybe they're all kids and I should just .. . . .

Or maybe it's just late and i oughta go to bed.

23. If that's what you need to feel, go ahead. I'm sorry that you need to feel
that way, though.

You have every right to your opinion. However... so do I.

I'm no more an operative than you are. The difference between us is that I'm still debating the idea of LIHOP with myself. MIHOP is something I don't yet have any faith in.

But I'm a skeptic. In all things. That, however, does not make me a tool of any organization, or an operative.

Name calling isn't nice. Nor does it further the discussion.

Politicat.

5. They've been doing this since before 2000
Though of course not on DU, which didn't exist yet.

They do the same thing on CSPAN and the networks that have call-in shows. Watch the first debate, whenever it is, then flip between CSPAN, CNN, and the rest. The first ten callers will all be people swearing they were Democrats until they saw the debates and now they plane to vote for "President George Walker Bush!" Oh yeah, they will read that exclamation point into the phrase.

It's a party built on lies. Being Republican is a sin.

13. So what
The freepers can't leave this site alone, that is nothing new. It is easy to make DU fit your preferences, for instance I hide all the Berg threads whenever I see one when I am cruising this forum. Hope that doesn't make me an operative, lol.

I think that posting here is their job. One I happened upon tonight was very knowledgeable on a subject and trying to intimidate discussion. But not someone that has been around for a long time.

14. the operative word
for example, the gov speaks in abstractions when it says, "we're fighting for democracy." or when they say, "operation this and that." you can't fight for a "word," as we all know, but it sounds better than saying, "we're going to iraq to kill people and occupy the land."

this link is an interview with a marine who was part of the invasion and occupation. it gives a much more clear picture of what actually happens in war.

http://www.alternet.org/story.html?StoryID=18730

this is the sort of reality that the government doesn't want anybody to know about. for if stories like this filled the network news, the war would end very quickly, and that's not good for business. it's much better for the economy if we stick to stories about young women being rescued and courageous football players who trade their lives for god and country.

16. There are alot of freeps here...
And they plan a 'coming out' extravaganza when Bush wins this year. Too bad, they will have to wait at least 5 more years for thier celebration, Bush is toast.

And yes, I've notice alot of questionably activity (not to sound McCarthyist, because this is only a message board) from members that have alot of posts.

25. There was this thread on Nader...and people were just kicking Nader's ass
Edited on Thu May-20-04 02:53 AM by Zinfandel
all over the place in this thread today and rightfully so I thought...and out of nowhere, someone with not many post, simply posts, "Didn't Michael Moore support Nader?" that's it, just subject, it was completely out of flow with the thread...I could just feel it was a set up for people to start attacking Moore (obviously because of Moore's new film and the scathing truths Moore highlights about Bush). However, everyone was cool and just ignored the post...A hit and run as they usually do, it just didn't fit. and of course the poster was gone to I assume, hit and run again. I could of course be wrong, but being around here so long, sometimes you just know.

I hate to even use the parallel "not many posts" since I didn't have many posts once, however, people never jumped on me, probably because I'm as liberal as anyone I've ever known and my post always make that point very obvious, so I do tend to rub some other "liberals" the wrong way, because I have no time or patience for freepers nor with "tweeners" (in-between, moderates, fence sitters, etc.) In so much I have indeed learned the art of telling them to fuck off extremely well, without violating any DU rules. It took me a couple of very angry & frustrating years learning to get the hang of it here at DU and tombstoned--I was just too blatant and depended far too much on profanity, but as I've said I've learned a much more effective way of slinging backhanded profanities and writing with a more perceptive, focused purpose. (Many of you DU old timers would remember me). I used to make many of you "LOL"

So yes, the operatives do bother me always have, although there's more around now than ever before and the number will grow as we get closer to November.

On Edit: Spelling of "patience".

At least that is what I've been told by some people here.

So when do I get payed, damnit! Tired of doing all this "operativating" for free!
