Former lawmaker arrested on ballot fraud charges

Monday August 11, 2003

By SUSAN HAIGH
Associated Press Writer

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) A former state representative was arrested Monday morning and charged with violating absentee ballot laws during his failed 2002 primary.

Barnaby W. Horton, 34, of Hartford turned himself in to the chief state's attorney around 9:30 a.m. The Hartford Courant reported on its Web site, ctnow.com, that Horton was accompanied by lawyer Austin McGuigan and numerous family members.

Phone messages were left seeking comment at McGuigan's office.

Horton was released on a promise to appear in Hartford Superior Court on Sept. 25.

Note, the article never says that he is a Republican, only that his challenger was a Democrat.

2. If he's a republican,
that makes him like the 4th elected one from connecticut to get in trouble with the law in a couple of years.

One of them for repeated rape of pre-grade school girls

3. I guess people are starting to take election fraud seriously!
"The commission found ``substantial credible evidence'' that Horton was present when three ballots were completed; interfered with one voter; tried to learn how two had voted; and took possession of four ballots, all in violation of state law." :)

All this commotion over 4 ballots for one minor office! Gee, I wonder what will happen when someone presents "substantial credible evidence" of wholesale fraud committed via DRE?

Time will tell!

Horton ultimately lost the race to Rep. Kenneth Green, D-Hartford. The two incumbents faced one another because of redistricting in the 1st House District.

He actually did some very good things..:(
