Rummy & gens. on CNN now.
Edited on Thu May-20-04 01:17 PM by trof
Over Rummy's left shoulder, the general without the glasses (sorry about names) has the classic deer-in-the-headlights look.
Just totally gob-smacked when Rummy is questioned about the Chalabi raid.

3. short commentary.
Rummy and Sanchez? (glasses) and the other guy who's the supreme commander in Iraq (really sorry I can't recall the names. age?) just came out from the end(?) of getting their hair parted by the senate committee.

R. is asked if he had prior knowledge about the raid on Chalabi's house. Um...well..not as much as...I've been concentrating on our testimony in there, blah blah blah
"I believe I heard it was IRAQI police blah blah blah..."
Like the Iraqis would take a dump with out direct orders from the U.S.

That's the gob-smacked guy.

5. Sen. Warner spoke first and said the prison abuse investigation
is not over and will continue.

Rummy got up and said how they have been spending a lot of time with both branches of Congress and how they have a lot of other work to do. Waaaah.

Thank God Warner, McCain, and Graham are not going to let this just disappear like the House is doing. However, you still have to be worried how far these guys will push this before they fall in line with their Party.

We are so screwed by not controlling either branch of Congress.
