I'm still depressed over the way the country treated mcgovern. If nixon can win by that big of a margin over a truly good canidate. Then Kerry should slaughter bush by at least 15 percent. But the country appears to be masochistic. Of course I want Kerry to win, but If he wins by a million votes, all it tells me is that america has not awakened. And in light of turmoil we will be primed like germany was.

2. From what I hear, part of the reason that McGovern lost...
...was because his far-left base pulled the rug out from under him for vacillating on his VP choice on account of that it was revealed Eagleton had had shock therapy and stayed home.

12. Kerry can't win by one vote.....
He'll have to win the election by a landslide, otherwise the Bushies will just steal it.

4. If landslide equals coattails
then I'm all for it. We have to take the Presidency and at least one of the Houses of Congress in order to make changes happen and clean up the mess that Duabya is leaving behind.

6. great graphics. . .
but I truly fear that without amelioration of the electronic voting machines (HE 2239 & S1980). . .Kerry will have to win by a whopping 30%. . .because that its the percentage of Americans whose votes will be unaccounted for without the passage of those bills.

10. it just means we got more votes instead of the country
waking up to see the agenda of the right. There is no reason (logical) that kerry shouldnt win by the largest landslide in history. The fact that bush could and most likely will pull 50 million is scary. That says a lot about our country, and if its true than you can win an election on evangelicals alone, and the number of fundies are growing, i fear for our future.

9. How about a win of any sort along with taking control of one or both
houses of Congress?

11. LBJ won in the biggest popular vote landslide ever
After one term he was so unpopular he couldn't run for a second full term.

Landslides are overrated.

And look what happened to Nixon.
