1. I voted for fuzzy
As long as our elected leaders aren't willing to fight for anything, who knows what they might stand for, or give in to, tomorrow.

I'm very proud of them for blocking the judges, but other than that, it's been a bad few years.

4. I just don't think many of them stand for anything at all, left or right
They just don't want to make anyone mad or offend anyone.

Carville said some time ago that the Democrats in DC are afraid that if they stand up for us, they might not get invited to the good parties.

Unbelievable. :)

2. I bet the muddles were the "fuzzy" voters
:D

Kinda like people who call in to C-SPAN claiming to be Democrats but swearing they'll vote for George Bush :eyes:

6. I voted fuzzy because they seem to be all over the map
we need a Dem' contract with America based on vets, old people, kids, the poor, family farms, and balanced budgets - Throw in some environment/small business stuff too. Maybe a national ccw program? I'm sure there's people here who know the issues better than I do as far as what's workable and what's not.

8. Too far right...
Considered fuzzy, but that seems like a cop-out answer, this is obviously a very generalizing thread.

9. I voted fuzzy cause thats where
the canidates are for the most part. It seems that the only thing you know for sure is that they will try to trash shrub. I want to see them all get some legs and stand on thier own. IMHO.

easy to say its too fuzzy?

A new poll? How many who voted fuzzy would have voted TOO LEFT if fuzzy was not included?

12. I think fuzzy is the answer.
The lack of ideas puts it in fuzzy(not left or right). I think your original poll was just fine.

15. too far to the right
Edited on Tue Aug-12-03 12:33 AM by Wonder

was my vote... status quo must go... but I do not here enough calling a spade a spade in the rhetoric... these candidates should be informing american's every chance they get that something has gone criminally awry... but instead it is to a degree very wishy washy like kerry's namby pamby speech on c-span the other day.

OUT OF THE BOX --- OUT OF THE BOX ---

even gore's speech which was not bad - it was matter-of-fact like nothing really extraordinary has happened:

the patriot act

each and very lie

documents they've falsified

the OSP

the utter complicity of the media

pump up the volume on all the legislation regarding bush's pet project: mandatory vaccine program which includes various enforcements if one doesn't comply????

many americans do not even know what the PNAC is - I mention it all the time to people who feel themselves informed - never heard of it.

blah blah blah... I just keep repeating myself around this topic

way to far to the right - and that other poster is correct the DLC has got to go.

11. I voted "does not apply"
This kind of thinking leads to people making all their political decisions by asking themselves what the proper leftist position is, like "What would Chomsky think." Also, the more extreme the better. Extremeness is purity, moderateness is pink-tutu.

but its Democrats who are claiming that Bush desires fascism and oligarchy, so I'd better know what Democrats believe.

Frankly, most people do consult a list of positions and vote that way. It's called the party electorate.

Then the Democratic Party will TRULY stand up and be the opposite of the Republican party.

because everyone else is doing it let's do it too. how black and white.

forget to ask if it is "right". being in the 'majority' doesn't mean you're right.

38. what's D/R ratio in the Senate? how many Dem Presidential years lately?
How many Dem governorships?
I'd say we're pretty close to where we need to be based on that alone.
Can't argue with the evidence I'm afraid.

50/50 making great headway there.

32. This poll is not scientific, but three things are certain
Edited on Tue Aug-12-03 07:42 PM by Terwilliger
few DUers think the Democratic party is right where it needs to be.

My fifth option was a mistake...."fuzzy" allows people to be muddle.

The majority of respondents consider the Democratic party too far to the right.
