ABC News: Military Recruiting
A recruiter made the statement that there have been more deaths in the US as a result of DUI's compared to troops in Iraq for the same time period.

That is a statement that is misleading.

According to MADD*:
2001*- 17,400 deaths
2001 - Deaths per thousand .006
2002*- 17,419 deaths
2002 USA Census Estimate - 288,368,698
2002 - Deaths per thousand .006

Troop Deaths - 794
Approx Troops - 135,000
Deaths per thousand - .588
98 times worse than DUI deaths

I hope my math is right
