Lt Col Attacks GI George Doll
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A46252-2003Aug11.html

....One person unlikely to order a Bush action figure is Air Force Lt. Col. Karen Kwiatkowski, who retired in March after working as a Middle East and North Africa specialist at the Pentagon before the Iraq war.

In an op-ed attacking the decision-making leading to war in Iraq, Kwiatkowski said the Bush administration will be found "to have caused a subversion of constitutional limits on executive power and a co-optation through deceit of a large segment of the Congress."....

1. !!!!!
You ever notice that the officers who served in the Air Force are the most outspoken?

3. Yea! Me too.
Aye, aye cap'n. "Off we go into the wild blue yonder, flying high into the sky....". I had one person tell me back in March "I never heard of a veteran who was against the war".

13. I know lots of veterans against the war
from the get go. Anyway, when a co-worker says that, you might want to zing 'em: "maybe that's why your evaluations say you don't pay attention."

6. Gloabally, air force officers always are more progressive...
I don't know what it is. I think they are less militaristic and more concerned with the national interest, broadly defined.

7. Yep....it takes brains to fly a plane
I'm sure shrubby had some once, but the cocaine and drinking took care of that!

15. Careful - not all Air Force officers fly planes. . .
although some may be what are called "non-pilot flight officers" such as RIO (radar-intercept officer) or BN (bombardier-navigator)
They are also known as "backseaters" or "sideseaters" for obvious reasons.

Others don't even get involved in aircraft at all, but work in support positions.

BTW, you can read more of LtCol. (Ret.) Kwiatkowski's stuff at either www.antiwar.com or www.lewrockwell.com
While both of these sites are libertarian-conservative in outlook, I visit them frequently, and always look forward to what Kwiatkowski has to say.

5. The article says the doll may
"in fact, pose a choking hazard".

It makes a lot of us choke and we don't even
own one.

Practitioners of Voo doo have a cute little
thing they do with dolls replicating people
they don't like.
Needles anyone?

12. Okay, a Lt. Colonel who worked
with the Bush administration says that the Bush administration basically committed treason and it gets buried in a feel-good story about some idiotic action figure. Is it just me or should this story get its own prominent headline, something like "Military Officer Accuses Bush Adminsitration of Treason"?
