Al Franken has just handled some Texas
RW'ers on the phone extremely well. He was very logical and courteous. Now that's the kind of radio that represents democratic ideals. Way to go Al!

And I'm not an avid fan of AAR, either.

2. It sure beats "You have the right to be a moron and express your views
but I am not going to give you air time". Or, "I am going to cut your mic". Tactics the O'Reilly and Hannity use all the time.

It is the difference between spin and smarts!

7. And play the "I look foolish and can't argue with those who I don't agree
with game?"

When Hannity and O'Reilly engage in that kind of behavior it makes me LMAO because it shows they are incapable letting facts interfere with their spin!

I have taken pride that Air America is above the RW spin artists and would have been very disappointed if he resorted to their tactics.

3. I thought he did well as well.

But the question remains to be asked, when the guy said something
like "Bush isn't perfect," Al should have been all over him with
a question about his opinion about the impeachment of Clinton.
"Clinton wasn't perfect, and you impeached him for it."

5. Degree of difficulty: 10
...of getting any liberal point across in Texas.

A great monologue on the mishandling and misleading involved in invading Iraq.

You could almost hear the crickets chirping in the background when he was finished. (Compared to the raucous applause when one of the rednecks got done talking.)

Those people are venomous, and they should be insulted and marginalized at every opportunity. Their stupidity should be pointed out and mocked non-stop.

It's not like these idiots haven't had their voices heard. The entire media has been parroting their ridiculous, fascist shit for years.

8. But it's seen as a badge of honor to them
to be ridiculed and insulted by "liberals."

So I guess Al is taking the stealth approach.

Sorry I missed the show. Sounds like they don't know what hit them.

12. They love his lack of response. They're like playground bullies.
They see Franken's desire to discuss things calmly as weakness. And bullies LOVE a weakling.

9. I found his replies to be a bit "Colmesish."
And I of course don't mean that positively. While the first rightist made a polemical defense of his reactionary politics that was clear and forthright, Franken didn't do the same. Murmering about "international support" doesn't mean a thing to me. The war against Iraq was and is immoral and has made the US less safe--it's a clear matter.

10. What was that business...
Edited on Wed May-26-04 12:57 PM by skypilot
...from the last yahoo about us electing Bush for four years not three and a half years? They were not having a discussion about Bush tendering his resignation. Although, that is a discussion that could be had. Freepers are always ever so subltely --and often not so subtlely shifting the focus of the discussion.

Oh, and then, of course, there is the fact that we did not elect that prick.

Edited on Wed May-26-04 01:00 PM by Walt Starr
I turned off AAR for good after that crap. If I wanted to listen to inbred morons discussing why they want to stick their tongues in Bush's ass, I'd watch Faux News.

Faux doesn't question Why they want to stick their tongues in Bush's ass.

They just join in.
