Solano County Votes To Replace Banned Voting System

POSTED: 9:59 am PDT May 26, 2004
UPDATED: 10:04 am PDT May 26, 2004

FAIRFIELD, Calif. -- Solano County Supervisors voted Tuesday to ditch the county's contract with troubled voting machine company Diebold Election Systems.

snip...

San Diego, San Joaquin and Kern counties were also banned from using the Diebold AccuVote-TSx machines in November.

Solano supervisors voted 3-1 to replace the touch-screen voting system with paper ballots from a different company.

Diebold had offered to foot the bill for an optical-scan system for this November's election as a temporary backup if the county would continue its $4 million contract with the company. But the supervisors voted to break all ties to the company.

6. 4 million to Diebold to count votes inacurately! No wonder they're able
to buy politicians. No wonder that bad system perpetuates itself.

9. WE NEED LAWSUITS!!!!!

These counties should SUE Diebold and others for selling defective products. They obviously do not work as advertised.
