Neo-conned: Ron Paul speech on the House floor, July 10th
Edited on Tue Aug-12-03 02:20 PM by dolo amber
Ok, I can honestly say I wasn't paying much attention when this speech was made so I don't know if everyone here has already seen it. I stumbled across it today and read it, and couldn't decide whether to cheer or cry by the end. The fact that it was made on the House floor, and by a REPUBLICAN, no less, makes it all the more powerful.

If everyone has read it already, then excuse the repeat. It is LONG. But it is amazing. I've since found out that it was made at nearly midnight, but that plenty of reps were still on the floor. I would give ANYTHING to have seen their faces.

1. I think this quote should be plastered all over Freeperville:

"One thing is certain: conservatives who worked and voted for less government in the Reagan years and welcomed the takeover of the U.S. Congress and the presidency in the 1990s and early 2000s were deceived. Soon they will realize that the goal of limited government has been dashed and that their views no longer matter."

That is the wake up call for all Americans. Hope they listen.

2. Well, keep in mind that Ron Paul is not your everyday Republican.
In fact, he was once the Libertarian Party Presidential candidate. Once you view him in that light, his views become easier to reconcile. He's only a Republican so he can win elections...he got tired of losing as a Libertarian.
