Tom Ridge tried to get on the television morning shows
and was turned down, via Keith Olbermann.

I suspect he wanted to talk about the terra lert.

OK -- this is unprecedented.

The gig is up.

EVERYONE knows this admin is full of shit.

I've seen several stories discounting this alert as another * ploy.

It's gonna be an exciting six months.

1. In Clarke's book
he tears the DHS a new a-hole. Basically says it's a bloated, unmanageable public relations foil.

13. Hmmm, Chimp can't get on networks for speech, Ridge can't
get on morning telelvision. Yeeeay!

BTW, do you suppose the Terror Alert was used to try to distract from Gore's speech today?

After all, it's been known about for at least a week. When it would be and what it was going to be about were known.

So, distract everybody with a terror alert? Sounds like Rove, to me.

5. If Tom was scared, why not elevate the country to threat level orange?

6. Keith is the best in mainstream media!
He sees through the BS and made it clear Ridge was turned down until the leak last night. Maybe the neocons aren't having all their demands met on mainstream.

9. write MSNBC
and let them know how you feel about Olbermann. He says that if he gets mail, they loosen the reins on him.

8. Here's the conversation:
Tom Ridge: "Hi, I was wondering if I could stop by tomorrow morning for a few minutes on your show."

ProgExec: "Who are you again?"

TR: "I'm Tom Ridge, Head of the Department of Homeland Security."

PE: "Oh, that guy."

TR: "So can I stop by?"

PE: "Why?"

TR: "I just want to take a few minutes to talk about how the terrorists want to attack to influence the upcoming elections."

PE: "Oh please, plan on saying anything new or useful, or is it just time to watch out for brown skinned people who hate our freedom and stock up on plastic and duct tape?"

TR: "No, really, it's important that the Murikan people know about this."

PE: "If we feel so inclined, we'll just re-run one of your taped appearances."

TR: "No, it's got to be about the terrorists wanting to influence the November elections."

PE: "What, are you trying to tell us the terrorists are going to come out in favor of gays settling down?"

TR: "Um..."

PE: "Or maybe they are going to come out in favor of Kerry because they grow weary of the worldwide Holy Crusade/Jihad..."

TR: "Ok, you can stop now..."

PE: "Wait, I've got it, since they were successful in pulling off 9/11 under el Dubyas watch, they believe Bush CAN get fooled again."

TR: "Ok, I've had it, I'm telling John."

PE: "John"

TR: "John Ashcroft, he'll fix your wagon."

PE: "Please let him know I'll be hiding behind the blue curtain. And have a fucked up day, Tom."

11. Good one.
I especially like this line:

PE: "If we feel so inclined, we'll just re-run one of your taped appearances."

That's so apt. What's he gonna say that's new? ...lotta chatter ... evildoers ... gonna getcha ... be on guard ... booga booga ... can't stop it ... we're doomed ... be afraid

16. But the problem is
the media have been "Bush enablers" up until now.

Granted, better late than never, but it still bothers me to NO end the way they have allowed all the LIES and DECEIT to go not only unmentioned, but for the most part supported.

It was almost treasonous to criticize the adminstration.

But like I said.... better late than never.

And I am actually watching CNN again these days.

18. Someone's finally starting to report on the story behind the story
Newsertainers always like to keep up this myth that they get their "facts" directly from God in person. Usually the most interesting story is the back story.
