"people die in war"
Whenever I try to start a conversation with somebody who is going to vote for *, I say I can think of around 800 reasons not to vote for him (ie. the soldiers who have died.) Their usual response is "Well, thats war....people die.....be glad more people haven't died." I usually say "Well, yes it is good that no more have been killed but those 800 have died for no reason at all....EVERY reason for going to war has been proved "false."

When I say this, their typical response is "Well, so what are we supposed to do about it now? We got faulty information but shit happens (paraphrasing.)"

I really dont know what to say at this point because I am awestruck at how dumb some people can be. Anyone one help me out here?

2. That kind of shit only happens...
if the country is being run by people with shit for brains. You can tell them that it doesn't matter if Bush lied or was lied to. He was unable to make correct decisions when it mattered. He's got no business running a country.

4. The answer....
Q: "Well, so what are we supposed to do about it now?"

A: Vote for someone who won't lead us into an optional grudge war, spouting lies to do it.

"We got faulty information"

Bullshit. We got the same mixed-quality intelligence we've been getting for decades. But bush decided it was so damned important to invade Iraq that he put yes-men into the pentagon to go over the Iraq intel and cherrypick raw data to make the case for invasion. bush was talking Iraq invasion from day 1, and he didn't stop fucking with the CIA and DIA until he had the answer he wanted.

Make sure they know about Feith's little adventure in creative intelligence analysis.

5. They don't give a damn about the troops or anyone else.
- They think, because we have a volunteer military, that soldiers are expendable. If it is somebody else that has to die, they don't care. They want to have a good war on tv to make them feel proud to be Americans. The repugs consider our soldiers expendable mercenaries.
- Repugs don't care that the President has a sacred trust to only wage war as a last resort. In their stupidity, they consider diplomacy weakness.
- Repugs hate anyone not like themselves. This includes non-whites and those, like us at DU, who are not in lockstep with their fuhrer's agenda. Working-class repugs are generally poorly educated and do not think critically. They like to be told what to think.
- Because repugs hate foreigners, war is all that much better because the US is kicking ass on some inferior foreign country. Of course, they could care less about foreign casualties.
- Anyone who plans to vote for Bush at this point is ignorant, stupid, and brainwashed, or rich and greedy. Good for you for fighting the good fight, but these people will follow their fuhrer right over the cliff.

But we can't tell if there are WMD over there?! I thought that was
what the UN inspectors went down there for? They did and they said "We can't find anything." Ask them wear were they and weren't they even listening.

And the 9-11 hearings, did they not listen to how many times Bush was briefed by G. Tenet on the phone and in person about the prior possible strikes (WTC), and who tipped off the Airline Companies Stocks 5 days prior to the WTC bombings that made/saved somebody a fortune? Ask them if it still just war if it's one of there kids out there dying for people that don't even want them there. Lord knows there is tons more. If you talk fast enough, they don't know what to say. Because it is facts.

Oh yes, and then ask them to tell you , why are we in Iraq. Every answer, if you get one, is easy. Because what ever answer they give can be counteracted using Bushes own words. He couldn't even make up his own mind.
Good Luck :)

7. Tell them Bush ignored the advise of top Generals and the CIA
Edited on Sat May-29-04 12:11 AM by DEMVET-USMC
in the decision to go to war and how the war should be carried out if going to war is the option he chooses. Marine Gen. Zinni just came out with a book detailing the Bush Administrations blatant failures in this regard. He does not mince words about it either. Here is a good link you will get what you need to shut up Bush supporters < http://msnbc.msn.com/id/5060782/ >. ...Oscar

8. Dishonesty is the reason for the war no one wants.
An honest president, i.e. NOT Bush is the only way we have a chance to get out. The world hates Bush. Like it or not, if we want international cooperation Bush has got to go. Otherwise we'll keep sending young soldiers to their deaths in an insane war.

9. People die even in a war of choice that was unnecessary
And the commander-in-chief that sent Americans to die in that war and kill people that shouldn't have died should be severely punished.
