Poll suggests 67% of Irish against Bush visiting Ireland in June
I suggest he only be allowed to visit the Blarney Stone.

Snip:
An opinion poll suggests that two-thirds of Irish residents are opposed to the visit of US President George W Bush to Ireland at the end of June.

The poll carried out for the Irish Examiner and RTE's Prime Time programme found that 67 per cent of those polled in the East constituency were against the visit.

Only 19 per cent were in favour of the visit while 14 per cent said they had no opinion. The poll was carried out on Tuesday and Wednesday this week in the European Parliament East constituency on a sample of 500 people by Lansdowne Market Research.

Mr Bush will be in Ireland for only 12 hours on the night of June 25th and the early morning of the 26th for a US-EU summit. He is to stay in Dromoland Castle. The summit will be chaired by Taoiseach Mr Ahern as president of the EU Council.

3. I don't want Bush "representing" us to anyone
I think it's best for the whole country if Bush is confined to his ranch. He can video conference with everyone if they feel he needs to.

5. Well, let's see... the Pope called Bush the "anti-christ"
Edited on Sat May-29-04 11:55 AM by cliss
last week. Hmm....plenty of catholics in Ireland.

Let's face it: the Irish are not stupid. They don't want this radioactive man who moves around like a tornado whenever he comes to call. He destroys everything within his path. He is so hated around the world that he has to have an enormous battalion of secret service agents with him, 24/7.

His last trip to London cost that city $millions$, and his 700 security guards trampled and destroyed a lot of vegetation.

The Pope was right: he really is the anti-christ.

Madsen, a Washington-based writer and columnist, who often writes for Counterpunch, says that people close to the pope claim that amid these concerns, the pontiff wishes he was younger and in better health to confront the possibility that Bush may represent the person prophesized in Revelations. John Paul II has always believed the world was on the precipice of the final confrontation between Good and Evil as foretold in the New Testament.
