Does Bush want to lose? Oil prices are a clue.
I think he'd exert more influence over oil prices if he wanted to win. He would call for hearings into how the refineries, pipelines, retailers and the whole oil industry have jacked up their prices WAY above their normal "take" above the price of crude.

I suspect he is ready to get out of this job. He is sick over 9/11 and knows he hasn't done the right things to stop another one. Iraq is a mess. He's lost faith in the economy. He knows his inaction on education and health care will ultimately going to cost America our competitive advantage. He wants to disappear.

2. Wow, you make a giant leap that I can't
you are assuming that he has a soul - I have seen no evidence of that so I can't assume that he could possibly be sick of 9-11. That works for the other issues.

I pray night and day that he would just not run next election. We could do no worse (I think).

4. Nah, but welcome to DU!
More likely, I think that the Saudis and other oil-producing nations have turned on the Chimp. American atrocities in Iraq and Afghanistan are causing problems at home, and the Saudis don't like that.

It's like the mob. These guys don't fool around. It's just business. George has turned out to be bad for business. Incompetent. Unpredictable. Stupid. They're ditching him.

5. I think the whole BFEE knows their time is up.
They will be more than happy to "resign" 3 months after Kerry is elected, while laughing/smirking all the way to the bank. And then they just start scheming their next big scam.

6. Nah
He isn't even entertaining the possibility that he won't win. After all, God put him there so everything that's happened has to be God's will, right? He doesn't read or watch TV, he lives in a bubble, he only addresses hand picked audiences - he thinks everyone loves him.

7. My word. What a completely bizarre statement.
George isn't sick over 9/11. It was his moment of triumph. His "trifecta." His perfect excuse to do any bloody thing he pleased without question.

You are crediting George with natural human empathy. If he ever had any, Barbara got rid of it.

George's friends, his pals, are doing just fine. The rest of us don't count and never did.

What George hates is that people aren't bowing and scraping as much anymore. And they may say, "Like father, like son" in November.

Oh, and it looks like he's never going to be America's first emperor. He really hates that.

9. bushie
cares not for his country.

he is enjoying playing president and fucking up the world.

he cares for nobody but himself. It is evident as he neither cares for his wife or daughters.

I wish he would choke on a pretzel while sitting on the shitter

10. It's not that big of a mystery
Bandar already told us the plan - to inflate prices until just before election time.

In fact, nearly every thing the BFEE does is in plain sight - you can see their plan for global hegemony on the web at www.newamericancentury.org it's really not necessary to speculate. All we have to do is take them at their word.

between now and then because of fuel costs then it kinda backfired.

12. I like the "Bush doesn't want to win" meme...
... and wish it would go farther. Might make him "look like a loser" in the eyes of those who only want to "back the right horse."

Seriously... I've been thinking for a few weeks now that it appears as though he doesn't want to win, and have been filtering events of late through that process. It makes sense to me. I started thinking about it the week before the Woodward book was released, when Bush gave that awful press conference. Since then, other things have triggered that red flag.

Try it!
