Christ Matthews should be fired for lying!!!
Chris was one of the main supporters of this administration and the WMD chrade. Problem is, he flip-flopped depending on which whay the wind was blowing. He is the ultimate liar and should be banned from a TV show or he should join FOX.

1. If the talking heads were required to tell the truth
there would be no one on tv.

2. Why would he get fired for lying?
It's what he's paid to do.

4. Damn right
and he had the nerve to LIE again on the air and say he didn't believe the administration's dissembling. I hope Daily Howler does a series of what he really said about "WMD" and then shoves them down his throat.

Of course, for Tweety, the only journalistic problems are in the NYTimes. Never at 7 PM Eastern on MSNBC.

5. He was talking about his personal views, and
he was almost certainly telling the truth. He was not a vocal opponent of the war, but he's an interviewer not a commentator.

He certainly made his feelings plain enough in his comments and questioning of guests every night. I've seldom seen him so clearly on one side of an issue as he was against the Iraq war; for instance, I'm pretty sure Mathews is pro-life and but I can't say in what way he's pro-life... I don't know if he would support overturning Roe, for instance.

But I knew 100% where he was on the war and I was surprised how obvious he allowed his opinion to get.

6. I really, really like Chris Matthews...
Probably my favorite of all the news shows.

He has a very moderate background (Republican upbringing, Democratic staffer). I am listening to his audiobook right now...

He REALLY doesn't like Clinton... and in large part its because of the failed promise related to Clinton's self-destructive ego.

I'm always partial to those who stake their claim in the middle of the political room, though.

7. Matthews is obsessed with Bill and Hillary Clinton.
He detests Al Gore. He is irrational when it comes to them. His ego is bigger than all get out. I think the only reason he was against the war is that he has sons who are draft age.

9. Agreed. The ONLY one thing Matthews has been consistent about..
is not supporting the war. He questioned it from day one. And has consistently questioned it ever since.

8. Actors lie all the time, big deal. He's an entertainer
It's not really a lie when you're reading a script. Shame on anyone who takes it seriously.
