I am sure many of you fellow news junkies were flipping around the "news" channels last night to see the latest information on the situation in Iraq, the pending global warming disaster, the state of American health care as well as long thoughtful discussions about the US military in the 21st century, our role in the AIDS epidemic, and efforts to end disease and hunger as we know it on this planet and missed any news of this trial.
A brief recap- yesterday the trial began of a heretofore unknown fertilizer salesman whose pregnant wife disappeared when he was fishing on Christmas Eve 2002. Apparently he wasn't the "perfect husband" many thought him to be but we want to reserve judgment on him in this ONE OF A KIND CASE of a marriage gone awry.
I don't know if the media will continue to cover this but from time to time OVER THE ENTIRE SUMMER I will offer updates that might not be available in the mass media. I expect to hear a long thoughtful discussion about how this sort of thing will irrevocably damage the "sanctity of marriage" about which many of our countrymen and women are so concerned about.
