WOW!! Oklahoma loves Dean!
From the Official Blog: http://www.blogforamerica.com/

From the Road: Stillwater, Oklahoma
Hi! Sorry for not reporting in sooner, but I couldn't get a wireless connection on my wireless laptop. (Technology is great, but only when it works!)

We had a wonderful time in Oklahoma! We went to Stillwater to take part in the Oklahoma Democratic Party candidates forum. It was our first campaign trip to the state, and we were amazed by the amount of support the Gov. has there.

Of course, we couldn't go to Oklahoma just for the debate - the Gov. wanted to meet the people! So, our first stop was to a rally for the Gov. And what can I say, but he was mobbed! (Thanks, Larry for the Krispy Kremes! The Gov. ate two). After the rally we went to the forum. I know I not an objective observer, but I can honestly say that the Gov. got the best response from the crowd (there were over 5,000 people in the arena). He got a standing ovation when he walked in and when he was finished. (I've got a must see picture of the Gov's face on the big Jumbotron). After the forum we attended a reception sponsored by the Dem Party and a giant line formed with people wanting their picture taken with the Gov. It was really inspiring. Then, to cap the evening off, we attended a fundraiser for the Gov. at Eskimo Joe's a popular local hang out. The place was packed! (Guess what! The crowd broke into song and sang O-K-L-A-H-O-M-A to the Gov.!)

It was an amazing visit! The Gov. never expected such support on his first visit to the state. I've sent photos to Matt so you can all share in the excitement.

Next update: A McFun Report!

Winning the Day in Oklahoma
Former Oklahoma Governor David Walters writes this Guest Blog:

"Governor Dean is on the front page of both state papers this morning; the forum attracted the largest crowd in Oklahoma history for the Democrats. He received several standing ovations from the 5,600 person audience, clearly winning the day.

Governor Dean's pre-forum rally dwarfed anything that any other candidate had. At the all candidate reception the line of well wishers stretched over 100 yards... no other candidate had a line. Governor Dean's after party, 'Late Night with Howard Dean', was packed with two stories of people hanging from balconies chanting DEAN, DEAN, DEAN! At 500 strong, they spilled into the street... and this was a pay to get in event!

The Governor truly thrilled everyone with inspired presentations at the forum and at the late night event."

WOW. Go, Oklahoma!!!! With a NATIVE AMERICAN as his campaign chief there. Love it, love it, love it.

1. not surprising
Dean has shown that he is tough and willing to fight. Even republicans must be struggling with problems created by this administration. There is just to much conspiracy-like stuff going on right now - Oklahomans (as most Americans) just want the real deal.

4. Oklahoma
has way more registered Dems than Repugs. The lapsed Dems need sombody who motivates them and tells it like it is. Sound like a candidate we know?

7. Very Hopeful
People are mad as hell, and are hungry to hear an intelligent politician who's as mad as they are. What's "radical" about Dean is his commonsense ideas. I'm beginning to feel more and more hopeful about the next election (okay, not the next one in California).
