The Prgressive case for Dean: Commondreams
http://www.commondreams.org/views03/0811-09.htm

I am a Gore supporter and will continue to wish he returns to the race.

I like Kucinich and voted for him in the moveon poll because I believe his views are the best on most of the issues.

I would love a progressive African American candidate and, while I admire Sharpton's rhetoric, I rememeber Tawana Brawley and his opportunism and seeming melt-down - I think Moseley Braun is very cool - but not odds on to beat Bush.

I even like Edwards and think he would make a grand VP or President -- but he just isn't quite there yet.

So with Gore's reaffirmation of his desire not to run...I am supporting Dean. Kerry is out of the question for me as y'all know... the skull and bones thing which to me is critically scary and spooky.

So I found this and think it is a must

regarding Dean. He is not perfect. But I think he can beat Bush and is the best we have right now (Gore? Gore?)

This is a must read article on Dean.

1. hmm
I've been pretty hard on Dean but that record is not nearly as bad as what I thought. It is hard to hear the truth about him, one person says hes great and gives 3 sources and another says he sucks and gives three more.

3. I prefer Kucinich
but I am not confident he can win against Bush or even in the primaries. The way I see it it is Dean's race to lose in the primaries.

If I split my votes for Kucinich instead of backing Dean - who has a better chance of winning in my opinion - then I make it more likley that someone I despise as a candidate will win.

It is practicality - not because I am completely enamored of Dean. He just seems like the best shot I can live with for now.

I am still, hoever, open.

ANYBODY but Kerry.
