Bush plants a tree while Hazardous Waste Police prepare for G8

"Continuing a tradition of commemorating visits by planting a Live Oak, President George W. Bush plants a tree on Sea Island, Ga., during his visit as host of this week’s G8 Summit Monday, June 7, 2004."

Security for the Group of Eight summit includes a team equipped for any hazardous waste exposure.

2. Interesting.
Just posted the 2,000 body bag thread. The article cited also mentions:

There are no children, either, on St Simons. Normally the first week of the school holiday marks the start of the "season", with holiday-makers arriving to take advantage of the spectacular World Heritage beaches. Today the beaches, patrolled by sharky, high-speed gunboats, are empty and shorn of the sea broom and bramble that provided much-needed shade for humans and wildlife (terrorists who make it past the tanks and missiles might hide there).

Wonder if THAT will get any U.S. press coverage?

3. HE IS NOT!!!!!
Planting a tree would include getting dirty and sweaty and actually using your god damned back. He is merely tossing one shovel-full of soil onto a tree already planted by some poor Latino gardener.

And who is watching this pathetic show of phoney environmentalism? The local retirement home?
