Question for Nevada DUers (or anyone who has information)

Isn't it true that the current Republican perscription drug plan pending in Congress resembles a bill passed by the Nevada legislature in 1999? I heard the Nevada bill relied a lot on private insurers, but only one insurance company signed up, and they were unqualified to pariticipate! I never heard much about what happened with this bill: were adjustments made to the bill? did any other insurance companies sign up? Governor Kenny Guinn pat himself on the back for getting this bill passed, but he didn't pay the price for it's failure in the 2002 election. We all should be aware of this failed "reform" seeing as how it resemles what the Republicans are trying to do nationally. If Nevadans or other DUers familliar with this bill have any other information I think we would all appreciate hearing from you.
