Reagan in a positive light...Kerry should use this Reagan quote:
"Those doing all the criticizing had their chance. In the 4 years before we got to Washington, they had it all. They had the whole enchilada. They controlled the Presidency, the United States Senate, the House of Representatives, all the committees of Congress, and the executive branch and hundreds of agencies and departments. They virtually had a free hand, and all they could think to do with that free hand was stick it in your pocket.

Well, they had their chance and failed."

In "your pocket" and your children's pockets. Use this kind of stuff in the campaign and in the first months of the Kerry Presidency!

4. Absolutely. If Kerry doesn't ask that question, either in his acceptance
speech or during a debate, he is not as smart as I think he is. It is such an obvious thing to say. There is no way that shrub can win a referendum on the last 3 1/2 years. DU ers have speculated about Reagan's death for quite a while. The guy was 93 years old and it was perfectly reasonable to discuss the implications of it happening. Most people seemed to assume that Reagan dying would somehow help shrub get elected. Between Nancy Reagan talking about stem cell research and Ron Reagan (the son), who appears to have not just dignity but courage as well, this may actually jump up and bite shrub in the ass.

5. The trick is going to be....
.. to use is, to say it, WITHOUT MENTIONING REAGAN'S NAME.

Say.. "a great american", "a nobel man", yadda yadda yadda..

let the talking heads make the connection to Reagan.

Why? So they can't accuse Kerry of "using Reagan" in the campaign or "using Reagan" to campaign for him..

Kerry dosen't want Nancy/Ron Jr on his case any more than Shrubya does...
