Reagan Funeral Leads to Friday Night Jumble

Fast National ratings for Friday, June 11, 2004.
In addition to closing post offices and causing most flags to wave at half-mast, President Ronald Reagan's funeral also wreaked havoc with Friday night's primetime ratings, as all of the networks aired some sort of funeral coverage from 9-11 p.m. ET. The result was a jumble of numbers that will have to sort themselves out when final results come in.

Overall, NBC came out slightly ahead with a 4.9 rating/9 share, but ABC was right behind with a 4.8/9. CBS was back in third with a 3.9/7, with The WB in fourth with a 2.1/4. UPN and FOX had the same 1.7/3 to tie for fifth.
