Republicans hate government and are the wrong people to have in office

..if there are problems that need to be fixed. They are the wrong people to have in office if people need healthcare reform, Social Security reform, taking care of the environment, or improving the education for our young people. Because, their belief system cannot permit them to believe any of those are problems of government. Every problem is better resolved by individuals, rather than by government.

It's a fact. Democrats believe in government and Republicans do not. Even if Democrats could fix all the problems that our nation faces, the Repubs would still find a reason and a way to discredit and dismantle whatever progress had been made. (Look at the surplus and balanced budgets at the start of the Bush Administration) It's a continuous struggle to make progress. Democrats can attempt to create programs to make people's lives better and Republicans will continue to tear them back down and the process starts all over again.

is that some Democrats (and I am a Democrat, and vote that way) would create too many government programs. I mean it's a balance between government being too big or too small. In that sense, I suspect that even if we outlawed the Republicans and eradicated that way of thinking (something I would strongly oppose, by the way), we would still have people within our own party who wanted Governmental solutions to problems and others who would oppose such solutions.

On the other hand, it would be nice if Republican spokespeople didn't talk like high school anarchists, so much.

And as long as the people have problems, Democrats should be able to offer a solution. Repubs do not want those solutions. So the basic question is: is there a problem that needs to be fixed? Should we ignore it or try to fix it?

There are some problems that require a governmental solution; and there are some where government hasn't had the desired effect. There are even situations where governmental involvement has made a bad situation worse.
