Does your flag fly at half-mast?
In Michigan, every time a US soldier (or sailor/airman/marine) is killed in Iraq or Afghanistan - Gov Granholm is ordering the flags to half staff for a day.

Reagan's recent death has made this a less-than effective honor, but I'm curious what other states or cities do.

I have a dead classmate from college, (Maj. Nave USMC) and a cousin by marriage I think about when I see the flag at half staff now.

1. Every time a US soldier is killed???
And how long does it stay at half-staff?

Since soldiers are killed almost every day, does that mean the flags are almost always at half-staff?

Or it just if the soldier is from Michigan?

6. ...sounds good to me
But - you know all flags were ordered at half-staff for like, forever for Reagan's death. So maybe somebody was just giving the right answer (well, I guess it would be the left answer)

8. 30 days is standard for dead presidents
All dead presidents get 30 days of the flag at half-staff. Reagan is getting no special treatment.
