1. Well, He's a Dem, so it's not a huge shock,
but still, it seems as if support for the administration from within is hemorrhaging.

2. Rand Beers is an important part of Kerry's group
I remember hearing about this a long time ago. A good guy to have. And the fact that he was part of Kerry's team long before he had the nomination tied up is important. He didn't jump on the bandwagon, he was there when nobody thought Kerry had a chance.
