I'm watching Bush address another captive audience of military folks who would be court-martialed for booing him. I understand that.
But anyone who applauds and hoots like a vomiting ape on cue whenever Bush says things like (paraphrasing) "we kicked their asses" is little better than the chimp himself.
Most people (not all) in the military have political "ideas" that are repellent and a danger to American civilization. I don't want any harm to come to them and I genuinely appreciate their service--we need a good military and I haven't exactly fallen all over myself to join, so I'm glad our troops have chosen to serve. But that doesn't mean they are *right* about much... considered en masse they really can be disgusting.
On Edit: I know that some people in the audience don't agree with what Bush is saying. But many do... and in our rush to consider the troops victims of Bush (which they are) we sometimes glamorize them.
