I see lots of threads want to discuss another "beheading by AQ"...this is for those bored by that "not unexpected outcome"...RIP goes without saying.
My diversion is insurance rip-off. I had a tree fall on my house Memorial Day and it just irks me that these fricking insurance leeches charged $840 for removing it. It took 3 guys and 1 chainsaw about 2 hours work to do it. I know the company has to have WC insurance, etc. But this was such a RIP.
Of course, I'll be good like all Americans do and just pay them the damn bill after the insurance gives me the check.
My rant against insurance abuse (which leads everyone to have higher insurance costs on their homes) is over now.
2. Seems if insurance covers it, people raise the price.
My insurance-covered car repairs have been pricier than regualr maintenance. Seriously, replacing a muffler after a fender bender required a more expensive muffler than when I just had to replace it for maintenance reasons.
Mods will probably move your post to the lounge...
6. Did you begin to notice small adjustments to your premiums post
9/11? I did and I called more than once to raise hell about it. No accidents, no tickets, no claims on homeowner's coverage for YEARS.
I was told that all of the insurance companies were raising their rates a little here and a little there to recoup losses. I suppose that I should just be glad that they were upfront about it.
Yes, my homeowners goes up all the GD time! When tornadoes did some damage in my state about 4 years ago....that Home Insurer dropped everyone in my state!
It's a scam. Proof: Who owns the high rises in Big Cities? INSURANCE.
This was the first time that I'd noticed it so blatantly since Andrew caused rate increases. Businesses were getting hit with these increases, too, so much so that there was quite a bit of grumbling about it for a while.
I'm in Al...are you? Do you know of some juicy insurance scam I'm not aware of?
They are all scams as far as I'm concerned. I've had to change homeowner's coverage 3 times in this state, with only one small claim. Not my fault on any.
10. No scams. My spouse is convinced that insurance is just legalized
gambling...LOL.
We were in Huntsville earlier this week and we had quite a few people on the freeway and in the city blowing the horn and laughing at our "There's dirt under every Bush" bumpersticker. Just curious about what you might have noticed about attitudes towards *.
