Its been a good day for Bush
Edited on Fri Jun-18-04 06:22 PM by shylock1579
He spins the beheading to show the importance of the war in Iraq, the leader of AL Queda in SA has apparently been killed, people are already forgetting about the 911 commision's statements, the media still isn't asking any questions, his polls are up, McCain is on his side again, people are ignoring the prison scandal and now Ashcroft is using the Patriot Act to prosecute one of the prison scandal contractors (goooooOOO patriot act!!). Ridicuous. It is all based on lies and people are still buying it all.

On edit: I've been on this site all day and my day has just gotten worse and worse. I'm taking the weekend off to try and enjoy life for a couple days. I need a break from Bushie.

18. Plamegate...
I've heard THAT is the one that will rip it open for the elections. Sounds like some heavy shit. Perhaps we've found something that sticks to Bush's teflon suit.

2. I'm going to respectfully disagree
there is only so much people can stomach and beheadings won't help any president of any stripe. The worse things get for any thing American related the worse * will look. Maybe not today, but i think it will have a negative effect on him.

I'm going to respectfully agree with you. I don't see how this helps
shrub. The image that most people will take from today is that of the poor fellow who was murdered. Even if SA "got" the guy responsible, which I don't necessarily believe, it doesn't help shrub. What do you think the Sunday talk shows will focus on. Everything that happens is bad, and something happens every day.

Al Qaeda kills yet more innocents on George's watch ...

Pootie Poot lies through his teeth, and proves it by not offering evidence ...

THe Plame trials are about to explode ...

Abu Ghraib will STILL produce yet more disgusting revelations of bankrupt american policies ....

You give up too easy ...

FIGHT THE BASTARDS ! ..

4. the bodies will still keep coming
No matter how many bad guys they nab for photo-ops. The stability of the middle east isn't going to improve under their occupation, and people are going to figure that out sooner or later.

5. I don't agree
Edited on Fri Jun-18-04 06:41 PM by lancdem
There was only one poll that showed him up, Pew, and that was done almost entirely during the Reagan mourning/funeral, and ended Sunday. I'm not aware of people forgetting about the 9/11 Commission's statements, and the beheading just reminds people of the mess in the ME. And the WH lawyer testified today before the grand jury in Plamegate. That's not good at all.

Edit: I just saw that Harris poll with Bush ahead by 10 among likely voters. OK, this is depressing, but it's obviously the Reagan effect.

12. All this is a planned effort for the evil wing to build up the lies
which many millions will be freshly exposed to next week with F911. The Empire is mounting a huge counter spin campaign in favor of their Saudi rulers. This Beheading is horrific and only proves that Saudi has 1000 times more Al Qaeda terrorists than they can pin on Iraq.

It is real important to write the whore media and point out to them that the terrorists came from Saudi, NOT IRAQ. Today's beheading is proof positive. Hit them hard with the truth!

19. Except that the battle they're waging to keep F911 OUT of theaters
seems to be working! The neocons in charge have unleashed their entire army to stop the theaters from showing it.....complete with death threats, and the other usual neocon arm-twisting bully methods. They've funded every right wing organization under the Sun to stop the film.

17. We all need a break from DU sometimes.
I look at it this way -- it's pretty sad that Bush
needs the death of a "venerable" leader and a week-long
schmaltz fest to get any bounce in the polls.

This too shall pass. His numbers go down, something
happens and they go up a bit, but then they always go
down again.

20. Here, this should cheer you up a bit..
Watch my latest flash movie called "Mourning FOR America"

It compares Bush with Reagan (who doesn't even measure up to the 'gipper') and then shows people exactly how the "Reagan Revolution" screwed the whole country over and what it really did to our nation.

21. anyone else but notice a trend here
Whenever anyone dies its always good for Bush.

A president who becomes more popular as more people die.

Sickening.
