1. Wow that was a great response. " I'm thinking if you had asked these
kind of hard questions before the war then the Republic would have been safe." Good for M Moore. Matt is an ass.

2. Michael more than held his own
I have to say, I expected a certain amount of skepticism from Lauer, but the degree to which he attacked Michael had me wondering if I'd accidentally turned to Faux News.

8. Yes, he did
God, the truth is so refreshing. It is impossible for an interviewer to make someone look bad who just tells the plain, unvarnished truth.

Lauer came off looking like a biased ass. It's infuriating, but a great interview.

3. post 9/11 saudi flights
What about the skeptisism that Lauer showed in regard to the 9/11 saudi flights? Lauer went on to use the comments from the 9/11 commission to remove some of the controversy from those flights. Lauer made it sound as if the 9/11 commission thought no one of interest left!? Is that what the commission has reported? They interviewed 24 people who left of the hundreds who flew out and the 9/11 commission can conclude that no one of interest left?? That sounds fishy--or it should have if Lauer had cared to look into it or focus on that part of the issue.

6. Sauda Official Leaves Despite FBI
Sept 10, 2001

The official, Saleh Ibn Abdul Rahman Hussayen, is interviewed by the FBI shortly after 9/11, but according to testimony from an FBI agent, the interview is cut short when Hussayen “feign a seizure, prompting the agents to take him to a hospital, where the attending physicians nothing wrong with him.”

The agent recommends that Hussayen “should not be allowed to leave until a follow-up interview could occur.” But that “recommendation, for whatever reason, not complied with.” Hussayen returns to Saudi Arabia a few days later, as soon as the US ban on international flights has ended (see September 14-19, 2001).

4. The anamosity towards Michael is very intense
Republicans are *extremely* vicious towards him now because of this movie. He must have exposed their hypocracy to such a point that they can't just dismiss it - they have to attack it - because they can't dispute it with facts. What assholes.

Bulls-Eye, Michael!! Way to go!!

17. You think Lauer is whining?
I think the whining is coming in this thread. That was a mild interview (I've just watched the video), even respectful - Lauer puts points, Moore gets to respond to them. Moore is right that government officials (and Democrats, for that matter) should get that kind of questioning (in fact tougher) all the time.

12. Eisner Fears for His Job
Disney's CEO, Michael Eisner denied the censorship charges, saying that it was a business decision that, "In the case of ‘Fahrenheit 9/11’ we chose a path that was right for the company and its stakeholders."

That's how media members are intimidated. Get canned from company A, and your next employment opportunities are at companies B & C. Soon there won't even be a company C.

14. Notice Lauer Barely Asks About What Is In the Movie
just focuses on talking about motives for movie, agenda, what movie supposed to be saying etc etc etc.

Except for the torturing and people leaving country, nothing about what is in the Movie. Moore should try to get in his answers more about the movie itself (tape of Bush's reaction to hearing about the planes etc).

Loved Moore's comment about sitting there for 20 minutes thinkign if tough questions had been asked before war....would love to have seen Matt's face after hearing that one.

18. Watch a very SAD Moore on Canadian TV commenting about US interviews
He had to go to Canada to try to get true feedback from real interviewers. He comments about his interview with stupid Lauer... it is kind of depressing, but nice to hear him talking to a person not a RW memo regurgitator.
