6. he should release "Headliners and Legends" in the theaters
if he thinks "Fahrenheit" is too anti-Bush, he should distribute his puff pieces on George and Laura to counter it. Something for the people who are to stupid to understand "Dodgeball" to enjoy.

Lauer is a creep--- a shill and in denial.

He would never treat Bush that way-- Bush is too stoopid to go toe to toe w/ Lauer anyway

13. How do you know it's only "metaphorically"?
Maybe he really visits Junior at the pig farm, and that's why the Chimp takes so many goddamned vacations.

Yeah, I know it's probably not true, but let's spread the rumor anyway. Just imagine the aneurysm's over at Freepland if they thought Junior was not only a "sodomite" but was involved with someone from the "liberal" media

16. Just because the guy asks some tough questions...
...does not make him a freeper.

He was aggressive with Moore, and he should have been. There is lots of controversy around. I would have been offended by a light, fluffy interview. And, to his credit, Moore nailed every question very well. He was definitely prepared.

Just wish Lauer and his ilk were that tough with everyone.

18. My point was that Lauer was tough on Moore and believed the Admin
as if it was the God's truth. At one point he asked Moore why he didn't turn his documentation of prisoner abuse into the DoD, which I thought was woefully naive.

20. That question deserved to be asked...
...perhaps more than anything.

There is a lot of controversy about this. This is serious shit. Lauer would have been irresponsible if he didn't bring it up. But Moore had the right response.

Should he have turned it in? Why? Seemed Rummy knew about the abuse for months and sat on it anyway.

17. GRRRR...he is whoring for Bush. No guts to stand up to anyone from this
administration. And only with those neo-con, right-wing crooks behind him, he has any guts to question Moore's motives.

And I like Moore's response: I wish anyone from the media would have grilled Bush and his buddies like you just grilled me (or something in the line of that...)

He is NOT a journalist. He is a f*cking MORAN!!!

19. I was waiting for someone to put this poll up here. I don't think Lauer
could have been more repugnant and obnoxious if he were twins.

Talk about politicizing something, that's all this asshole has done. Every interview he does that concerns politics is always slanted. I almost didn't want to watch that interview because I knew I'd be pissed all weekend. I was right.

22. I put Lauer in the religious right category some time ago
A couple years back Matt was interviewing a scientist re evolution. Laurer kept refering to the theory of evolution as the big bang theory. Having been involved in numerous debates with creationists I recognised this as a standard term used by the religious right.

On another occaision Laurer was interviewing a guy that had been tossed a couple hundred yards by a tornado and managed to survive with only a few bruises. Laurer kept trying to get the guy to say it was a miracle he survive. The guy kept insisting it was just one of those things that happens. Laurer wouldn't let up. He wanted the miraculous intervention but unfortunately had a skeptic on his hands.

24. Lauer stinks!
What a smarmy, jackass Lauer is; he almost gives Hannity a run for his money. You could read his disdain for Moore all over his face. Thank God Moore took it to Lauer and made him look like the fool he is!

More excited to see the movie now than before. Go Moore! :yourock:

25. "Other": TRYING to be hard hitting journalist.
But I thought Moore acquitted himself well. When you make political movies, you have to be willing to answer the tough questions.

Lauer did seem to be a little too personally involved and emotional.

Best moment: When Moore told him that if and other media had asked questions like that before the IW, we might not be in a war.

While Moore rebutted everything he said without referencing anything but his own memory and intellect. MKJ

31. I watched the piece last night
And was struck by the editing, among other things.

Didja notice the ominous music played in the background when discussing "aspects" of Moore's film? You just knew the "bad guys" were coming.

And why is the fact that the Weinsteins (?) are Dem supporters, "...even have held fundraisers for Kerry!", an issue. These guys are capitalists, most likely honest capitalists and saw a chance to make a little coin on a movie from an Oscar winning director.

The suggestion that Moore contact the DoD with his torture footage was laughable on its face.

Moore did a good job, I liked when he brought up how media control has been concentrated into the hands of a few and the GE connection to NBC.

Not sure how this plays with middle America, though. The portrayal of Moore, the pudgy, scruffy iconoclast who "hates" the Chimperor was fairly negative.

32. I voted hard hitting journalist . . .flame away.
In case you did not notice Michael Moore made a movie highly critical of the president during a time of war and during an election year anything less from Laurer would have been unacceptable. Moore handle Matt real well, but I feel Matt was just doing his job. Afterall this is not "Shrek 2" it is a documentary that deals with very serious subject matter and its very controversial.

33. Matt got his marching orders from GE. Was hostile from the get-go
Matt was fired up and emotional from the beginning. Like his mind was already made up. He was definitely not "fair and balanced."

Me thinks he is also a tad bit jealous of Michael. Moore is making an impact; Matt just interviews folks from a studio.
