http://www.cooperativeresearch.org/061704-911timelineupdate.html 'DAY OF 9/11' INTERIM UPDATE TO THE COMPLETE 911 TIMELINE- 6/17/2004
The 9/11 Commission has issued a new report regarding the US military's response on 9/11. This report contains an incredible number of errors. Most critically, it almost completely fails to mention Richard Clarke and his efforts as the national crisis manager that day. There is only one mention of Clarke:
"The White House Situation Room initiated a video teleconference, chaired by Richard Clarke. While important, it had no immediate effect on the emergency defense efforts."
This video teleconference appears to have been one of the first and certainly the most important methods of communication amongst the top leaders on 9/11. Virtually every top Bush official participated in this conference. This is vital, because Clarke's account of this teleconference contradicts many of the other stories about what happened that day.
We have published this interim update in order to highlight several important accounts and information that the recent 9/11 Commission's report failed to mention. Much of it focuses on information from Clarke's book, Against All Enemies, a book the commission has seemingly completely ignored. The new and updated entries listed below will soon be incorporated into the "Day of 9/11" timeline. The color coding and acronyms are the same as on that page. We will soon post another update that will include information regarding the new 9/11 Commission report.
