Do you personally know a better qualified person than Bush?
Edited on Fri Jun-18-04 10:39 PM by louis c
I believe, truly and honestly believe, that I personally know at least a dozen individuals better qualified to be President of the United States than Bush. I'm not talking about career politicians, just people I know. That, to me, is an incredible observation, because these folks are not extrodinary, it's just that Bush is so ordinary. I bet many of you , honest to God, have freinds and co-workers that you feel the same way about. Multiply that over and over and think of how frightening a statistic that is.

1. There's a janitor at the hospital I've done some work at...
...and I think he's better qualified. Bush was born into a family that still believes in the Divine Right to Rule. If it weren't for the fortunes of his birth, he'd be a night manager at a Krogers.

13. No, he'd never
make it as a night manager at Kroger's. He couldn't handle 9-5 work hours, and don't you have to know how to read to be a manager?

15. Let me explain
Aside from their politics, I don't personally know anyone that was more qualified to be President than Bush's father, or Clinton, or Kerry. I'm sure there is someone in the country better qualified than each of them, but it is and should be a rare individual, and someone like me or you shouldn't know him or her. The point is this guy is really a Dope. If his name was George Walker instead of George Walker Bush, he couldn't beat the Mayor of Crawford.

2. Well, there is me for one

I can read, and I can speak in complete sentences. That alone makes
me better qualified than *.

3. There's this guy down the street...
He lives in front of the 7-Eleven. He smells like urine and screams obscenities at me when I go to buy a hangover Slurpee (for rehydrating, doncha know.) Yeah. I would vote for him before Bush. I think he would do a better job.

7. had a discussion with a military officer
Edited on Fri Jun-18-04 10:46 PM by Insider
he tried to explain why it was okay to have a dim-witted (my word) president, as long as he had "good people around him". he claimed that some of the smartest leaders did not manage well, and did not have good people around them. well, i simply asked him if it would be okay to have a company/battalion/brigade/division commander who was dim-witted (my word). see, he couldn't very well put HIMSELF in that position of being the dimwitted (my word) commander. he knows better. he thought, and then nodded and said "i get your point".

i told him that despite what radio commentators proclaim, you should have the best of both: smart WITH good people around him. we both agreed to that.

answer to your question? i have actually TOLD about 5 people (military officers, reserve, retired & active). they usually smile and stay silent. they know it's true, and won't deny the compliment. ;-)

9. Kind of a tangeant, but
Why is it that most managers, even capable ones, are as dumb as a stump?

11. IMO
strong leaders are rare, and sometimes they don't have a world of other good skills.

i'm sure we can find a handful who have MANY good skills, plus leadership, to be president. hopefully.

10. You are.
You put together a paragraph that makes sense. Bush has writers on the payroll to do that for him.

Seriously, you are quite right. The system is broken.

23. Since the chimp cannot utter a coherent
sentence, I would say that most everyone I know is better qualified - the only exceptions being a couple of three year olds who are his intellectual peers. Just briefly though, as they'll be four soon and will quickly surpass him.

They don't lie, cheat or start illegitimate wars. Also, they are much more functional.
