So Big Dog warned Dubya about OBL and Dubya "switched subjects?"
"In his own book, Clinton also said he met with President-elect George W. Bush and told him that the biggest threat to the nation's security was Osama bin Laden and al-Qaida. According to Clinton, Bush said little in response, and then switched subjects."

3. The chimp was told about bin Laden by Clinton,
Sandy Berger and Richard Clarke. This administration ignored the info because it came from the "Clinton" administration. They pooh-poohed it... Put it on the shelf and continued their Missile Defense agenda. He knew about bin Laden and chose to do nothing.

Bastard.:grr:

7. (w)easel also ignored the US commission on Ntl Security
...that report was put on Duhbya's desk on Jan 21st, 2001. Duhbya ignored and poo-poo'd it too - probably because it, and the Commission itself, came from the Clinton admin.

ONLY AFTER 9-11 did (W)easel establish an Office of Homeland Security as recommended in the report - and THEN (W)easel refused to make it a fully funded and staffed cabinet-level agency - it wasn't until after some hellraising that he made it a cab-level agency as the Commission recommended.

That Commission went to numerous countries and did a few years of research to guage anti-american sentiment and the threat of terrorist attacks on the US. It was established by Clinton. It presented its findings and recommendations to (W)easel in January 2001. (W)easel ignored them - until it was too late.

Also, I think shoving through tax cuts for the rich was the #1 item on (W)easel's agenda - any threats of terrorism were on the bottom of his priority list. The weaselly little man got caught with his pants down on 9-11 - pure and simple.

5. No surprise
Remember, Dubya was friends with the binLaden family...further evidenced by that oh so benevolent gesture by sending the whole family packing to the ME on a private jet on 9/11.....

shaking hands.

Clinton looked dignified.

* had a filthy scowl of pure contempt on his face. (and it's not because of Monica, it's because Clinton was a man of compassion - from his early healthcare attempts to his latter-end foreign policies which started working... then * came in.)

I applaud Clinton, BTW, in that pic, for maintaining composure with that jerk*. The pic alone shows who the unthinking hateful animal scumbag* is.

11. Remember, he doesn't read books or News Papers
he never understood the world events, foreign politics or was aware that there are other cultures out there.

Yesterday he even compared the time after WWII in Germany, with the time now in Iraq. (Culture Mr. President!!!)

15. Yep, sounds about right
Why would bushie listen to Clinton when he needed a "new Pearl Harbor" to carry out his administration's foreign policy objectives. DUH! Okay, those of you bashing us who are LIHOP or MIHOP are you finally beginning to see our point? I mean are we really to believe that everyone in this administration is a stupid as Dubya appears to be? Come on, I don't believe even he is that stupid. Get out your crayons and connect the dots.

16. Proof of the Plot
This is not a new revelation -- this is what had been reported at the beginning.

Bush already had His Plan in place. 1)Allow Israel/Palestine to explode into horrific violence, and allow Israel to prevail militarily and politically 2) Long-term regional war in Middle East, starting with Iraq

I think George W was already intoxicated with the notion that he was some kind of Napoleon, who was going to carry out nothing less than completely transforming the US and the world. He is so fucking ignorant that I can see him being completely dismissive of Clinton's clear and straightforward warning. He felt he didn't need to pay attention to petty little details, because he had an extensive program --part empire, part Apocalypse -- that he was going to institute.

The notion that "sept 11 changed everything" is a patent lie -- EVERYTHING was in place well before Sept 11, which merely provided the opportunity and smokescreen to begin a vicious and irrational military program.

LIHOP, yes, at best. There was an *understanding* that the fundamentally decent American people would NEVER back an ambitious program as they were intent on, UNLESS there was a cataclysmic event. They KNEW that. So--they let the "flies" swarm and descend upon us....I allow that they may have been shocked by the enormity of what the "flies" achieved that day, but no doubt because they think they are Great Men, they rationalized it as the opportunity to change the world forever according to their grand vision, and that made it okay.

I say, that what Clinton has written here is "proof of the plot."

17. More "Proof of the plot"
In May 2001 the U.S. State Department met with Iran, German and Italian officials to discuss Afghanistan. It was decided that the ruling Taliban would be toppled and a "broad-based government" would control the country so a gas pipeline could be built there.

http://www.gasandoil.com/goc/features/fex20867.htm

Even as plans were being made to remove the Taliban rulers from power, Colin Powell announced a $43 million "gift" to Afghanistan.

http://www.cato.org/dailys/08-02-02.html

Meanwhile, the U.S. Embassy in the UAE received a call that Bin Laden supporters were in the U.S. planning attacks with explosives. It was rumored that Bin Laden was interested in hijacking U.S. aircraft.

http://www.cnn.com/2004/images/04/10/whitehouse.pdf

In June 2001 the decades-old procedure for a quick response by the nation’s air defense was changed. NORAD’s military commanders could no longer issue the command to launch fighter jets because approval had to be sought from the civilian Defense Secretary, Donald Rumsfeld.

http://www.observer.com/pages/frontpage2.asp

In July 2001, the private plot formulated in May for toppling the Taliban was divulged during the G8 summit in Genoa, Italy. Immediately after the conference, American, Russian, German and Pakistani officials secretly met in Berlin to finalize the strategy for military strikes against the Taliban, scheduled to begin before mid-October 2001

http://www.guardian.co.uk/international/story/0,3604,556254,00.html

In September 2001 the "catastrophic and catalyzing" modern-day Pearl Harbor envisioned years earlier by the PNAC came to pass when the WTC and Pentagon were attacked with U.S. aircraft. Immediately, the finger of blame was pointed at Osama bin Laden, a former CIA operative with ties to Afghanistan. Suddenly, the U.S. "gift" of $43 million to the Taliban in May was cast in a new light. Coincidentally, Pakistan had participated in the plan to attack Afghanistan and the chief of Pakistan's Inter Service Intelligence agency was later linked to a 911 hijacker after wiring him $100,00 just days before the WTC fell.

In October 2001, with flags waving, crowds cheering, and anthems playing, the "War On Terror" and the hunt for Osama began when Afghanistan was attacked right on schedule of July's secret meeting
