Next Target for Bush: Somalia?!

Although news reports have the 10th Mountain Division being redeployed straight from Afghanistan to Iraq, the scuttlebutt I'm hearing is that they're actually heading for...Somalia?!

Has anyone else heard anything along these lines?

...from time to time. We hear that there are possible "high value targets" in Somalia. I don't know how much is true and how much is not. That would probably be the only reason to go. Other than that, Somalia is pretty much off the map, for the most part.

He did train there afterall.

forget N. Korea or Iran...the going either of those places would be way too tough. Look how tough Iraq has been and their military was decimated.
Someone asked if there is oil in Somolia...doesn't matter. Oil companies aren't the only ones to contribute tons of dirty cash to these creeps to do there bidding....military contractors to name one that would benefit from a Somolian War...sure it would be nice if there is oil(from their warped perspective)...kill two birds with one stone,but I don't know how much oil is there. They will continue to stir the pot in the middle east. Terrorist have replaced the communist as the enemy that they need to keep the bucks rolling in for themselves.

our last involvement there (Blackhawk Down - right?) was diastrous. If you think Iraqians hate us, Somalians probably hate us more.

It would be a diaster and the lack of oil as payoff would not be worth U.S. casualties.

You gotta ask, also: if our money and troops are already stretched thin, where else could we possibly go now?

This is one of the problems with the "war on terrorism" - it's gonna go on and on and on and on - and suck up our tax dollars. And for what?
