Man Sued for Fake Abortion Referral Service

Man Sued for Fake Abortion Referral Service
The Center for Reproductive Rights filed a lawsuit on Monday accusing a Louisiana man named William Graham of falsely advertising his business as a referral service for women seeking abortions. Graham purported to provide legitimate appointments with private physicians who perform abortions, CRR maintains, then would postpone and "reschedule" their appointments past the 24th week of pregnancy, at which point Louisiana law prohibits abortions. He assured those who sought his help that putting off an abortion is better for a woman's health, according to the Associated Press. Graham also advised women against obtaining an abortion from a clinic, telling them clinics were unsafe and plagued by malpractice lawsuits.

4. You mean after some women have had their health ruined
and their finances depleted?

Hell, just transfer those holy fetuses into HIS abdominal cavity, all of them.

8. Not Just The Women
He puts them off and stalls until the women end up being unable to get an abortion so late. But that entire time, they haven't been getting prenatal care, because they're getting an abortion. Many of them likely haven't been taking the typical precautions that pregnant women are supposed take. So then not only does the woman end up with a child she doesn't want, but that child can have severe physical and mental health problems.

3. Sued? Why isn't this piece of garbage up on charges...
of civil rights violations, fraud, and second degree assault? He caused irreparable harm to the women he influenced and should be charged as a criminal. So much for equality under the law, eh? I think I'll send this link to my students and then discuss it on Monday.

Do you teach law? Just curious. I hope you'll share highlights of the discussion here. I for one, am interested in what your students have to say on the topic.

7. Right now, I am teaching a summer course in Social Problems...
with an extremely bright, albeit small, class. These folks are very progressive in their thinking and I am looking forward to hearing their perspectives on this.

5. doesn't this disprove the theory spouted around here
that women have late-term abortions (crushing the
fetus's skull) for no other reason than they just
woke up one day late into their pregnancy and decided
to abort?

If that was so, all of these women could just have
had a purely discretionary late-term abortion.

9. More babies and less schools -- the Republican agenda
and while I'm at it, aren't child labor laws anti-free market and, by definition, anti-American?

10. LOL! Don't give them any ideas!!!!
They might take on this issue NEXT! Because we all know that the only children who are protected under these laws are POOR children! It sure wouldn't affect the children of RICH folks!

Sounds like something the repukes would LOVE to embrace! They'd spin it as "helping to teach children a good work ethic", or... "helping those families who need the extra income".

You know how they are!!! They'd love to do this!
