Anonymous CIA agent to release book charging Bush
The story is posted in this thread
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=103x57571

New book is set to be released written by former CIA official charging that the Bush administration is playing into Al Qaeda's hands, and that Al Qaeda will help Bush with reelection by staging an upcoming terrorist attack on US. Wonder if this is related in any way to Tenet's resignation? Sounds like book is confirming what some of us have been saying in threads on DU for a while. CIA is pissed at the Bush administration. Any guesses who anonymous might be?

1. Want to bet it's George Tenet?
His resignation was abrupt and odd (to say the least). He has ample reason to despise Bush and his whole gang, from the outing of Plame to being required to fall on his sword so many times he no longer casts a shadow. He has had to take the entire fall for the intelligence failures that led up to 9/11, even though there is ample blame to spread around.

If he didn't write this book, he certainly should have.

3. My thinking
I was thinking Tenet as well - at the very least him having knowledge of this book and passing info to Anonymous. Book is about to be released, so my guess is he figured he'd best get the hell out of Dodge.

5. That's possible - you know the buzz about the CIA coup?
Let's face it, the CIA is very unhappy with chimpboy over the outing of Valerie Plame. They are also tired of this administration making 9/11 look like it was CIA's fault for intelligence failures, when the FBI and CIA both had been warning Bushco and no one would listen. This is one book I will definitely buy.

10. There have been many best selling books by anonymous authors
I can think of "Go Ask Alice" and "Primary Colors" off the top of my head. Often the lure of trying to figure out who "Anonymous" actually is is a big selling point. Doubt "Primary Colors" would have sold anywhere near as well as it did if people had known who wrote it. In cases where there is no author to go on book talks and such, the publisher actually pushes the book. Normally works quite well. Now in the case of the Guardian story, they actually talked to the author.

15. DU ers interested in
"anonymous" books associated with elements of US intel should read "Farewell America." It was originally published in France in 1968 as "L'Amerique Brule" (America Is Burning) and was a best-seller in Europe, being printed in 11 languages. It was supposed to become available in the USA through Canada, but that was "squelched."

The name of the author, James Hepburn, is fictitious. The true authors were numerous, and included many intel sources who were aware of what actually occured in Dallas on 11-22-63. The book became available in the US in 2002, when Penmarin published it.

11. I wonder
Is there any real evidence of the CIA being pissed at shrub or is all of this just wishful thinking. I do hope that the CIA can come to the aid of the American people.
On this book: I didn't read the whole article, but always wondered if Osama was really a threat to us or just a buddy of bush and the cia. This story is stating that Osama has the upper hand, and that just will cause more fear.
Someone could help me where I am wrong?

13. I wrote a post about this yesterday
Osama was our guy against the USSR in Afghanistan during the Reagan years. We armed him and trained his Mujahadeen. Then there's the connections with the BFEE and the House of Saud. Hijackers were predominately Saudi. Smells to high heavens to me. CIA and FBI kept warning Bushco about threat from OBL and AlQaeda, but Bushco ignored the warnings completely - why? Like I said yesterday, it's enough to make even the most logical anti-conspiracy-theorist don a tinfoil hat.

Thanks for the reply. I did go read the rest from the Guardian. Seems that this "Summer of Terror" that Ashcroft was announcing has the cast of characters all lined up. :-(

16. I only see two possibilities
Either they are working in concert or this is the stupidest damn bunch of people ever to inhabit human form. Either way, they have got to go! The neocons and their imperialistic agenda is right out of George Orwell. I have Republican friends who think I have lost a screw. I pointed them towards the PNAC document and they didn't believe it - they thought it was liberal propaganda. I have one friend who insists that it's fiction. He practically sticks his fingers in his ears humming whenever I bring it up (okay actually he starts shouting "Monica Lewinsky . . .blue dress . . .blowjob, blowjob, blowjob!"). I have offered him all kinds of proof that the PNAC document is real, but let's face it, it does read like if not science fiction, at least like political thriller fiction. Thing is, once you know that one document is for real, the road to tin-foil-hatdom is right ahead.
